Which 2000's year and 2010's year do you think was better for music?
As for me, I'd say this:
2000 = 2010
2001 = 2011
2002 < 2012
2003 > 2013
2004 > 2014
2005 < 2015
2006 < 2016
2007 = 2017
2008 < 2018
2009 > 2019 (so far)

I'm shocked how the 2010s is seen as better for music than the 2000s, especially with the emergence of trap >_<
2000 > 2010
2001 < 2011
2002 < 2012
2003 > 2013
2004 > 2014

In summary:
I like Early 2000s and Early 2010s music equally.
I much prefer Mid 2010s music to Mid 2000s music.
I much prefer Late 2000s music to Late 2010s music.

Yeah, but there's a good number of older users here as well.

On interesting comparison is 2006 vs 2016.
I don't think 2006 is very good for music. Hips Don't Lie and SexyBack aren't my jams, and London Bridge is probably one of the worst songs I have ever heard. However, 2006 has some memorable songs like Pump It by The Black Eyed Peas or Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
2016 mainstream music on the other hand was almost all bad or mediocre. Much of 2016's hits are mediocre and bland. History by One Direction and My Way from Calvin Harris come to mind. Songs like Can't Stop The Feeling, Cheap Thrills or Closer are memorable in the worst way (overplayed to hell and back), and much of 2016's mainstream music is just plain awful. Examples include Broccoli, Don't Let Me Down, Boomerang, and m.i.l.f $ by Fergie. The only song from 2016 I remember being decent was The Weekend's False Alarm.
To me 2006 is better.
