I can understand some of the reasons for it, but I just thought this might make for an interesting discussion. There has been 208 accounts created on Popedia over the course of it's two year history and excluding accounts which have been deleted, at least a quarter of those accounts were made by people who decided to register and then never logged on again.
In your opinion, why do you think people choose to do that? Have you done it before yourself?

I have done that sometimes, but it's usually to see stuff you can't see unless you've registered. But I certainly didn't do that on this forum

I've never actually done it before, to be honest. Whenever I create a new account on a site, I always make at least one post and then I might check in once or twice after that. Otherwise, registering for an account just isn't worthwhile.

Oh, I did this quite a lot actually. Mind you, this was in my earlier days of using the interwebs on a more regular basis (early 2005). I most probably did it so I could see “hidden” content I guess. I’m not even sure of some of those logins now which is unfortunate.

I don't see the point of logging in then not contributing. If I decide a forum is not for me, I simply delete my account although that has never happened as I have usually been driven off by the playground mentality of others or had some idiot forum owner deciding to ban me for no reason whatsoever apart from some bullfrog they've heard and decided to believe.

The newest user "millenniumchild93" has "215" at the end of their URL, but there's only 130 members currently on the site, does this mean 85 accounts have been deleted?

The newest user "millenniumchild93" has "215" at the end of their URL, but there's only 130 members currently on the site, does this mean 85 accounts have been deleted? The reason for this is because accounts have been indefinitely archived due no activity for a length of time. So the registration number still remains just not “officially”.
