OMG ITS THE LATE 2006 SHIFT1!!!1!1!
Just kidding. However, there was a small change throughout the school year that felt a little different from the previous 00s years except for 2005/06.
This year was more tech focused than any other 00s years like the introduction of the iPhone, the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, YouTube videos and the peak of MySpace. I remember it was the beginning of the Hannah Montana/High School Musical era of Disney Channel.
There are songs that sound very new and entered the late 2000s territory like Sexyback, My Love, Glamorous, Fergalicious, Smack That, The Sweet Escape, Promiscuous, Say It Right, Buy U a Drank, Maneater, Umbrella, Cupid’s Chokehold, Give It To Me, Ice Box, and Irreplaceable.
However, there were still songs that still sounded core/mid 00s like Chasing Cars, Runaway Love, Smile, Walk It Out, Don’t Matter, It’s Not Over, Girlfriend, What Goes Around Comes Around, Beautiful Liar, and Lips Of An Angel.
This was also the peak year for Emo with songs from My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Also, Emo songs like It Ends Tonight, Face Down, and Bury Me.
Imo, this was one of the best school years that I had experience in the 2000s. It is on par with 2005-2006 and 2007-2008, those were my favorite school years. What are your thoughts on this period?

Even though I wasn't in school then, I still have fond memories of it. In March 07 my dad got an Xbox 360 which got a RROD in April of 2010. Christmas came and went and among the things I got were a Hot Wheels set of cars and a Spongebob coloring book. This is when I started watching kids shows, like Spongebob, Pokemon and Foster's Home but I still watched things like Dragon Tales and Cyberchase, they were my favorite shows when I was 3-5.

The opening few lines would suggest that the topic of discussion is a form of decadeology, however the OP then asks us to share what our overall thoughts are of this period and describes how the 2006-07 school year was one of his favourite. Honestly, I think you could make a strong case for this as being decadeology, but seeing as though the topic has naturally veered towards us sharing what our own personal experiences are of the school year anyway, I've decided to keep it open. To ensure that the discussion sticks with the theme of nostalgia, I have change the title from "2006-2007" to "Your experiences of the 2006-2007 school year" and have moved it over to the "Remember when..." sub-forum, where it is more fitting.
