I remember when McDonalds was very popular in the 2000’s, but it seems like now in the late 2010’s not a lot of people go there anymore. I feel like Chick Fil A has pretty much replaced McDonalds at this point. I haven’t heard of people wanting to go there in a while now.

I honestly can't stand McDonald's anymore, their cheeseburgers are horrendous.

I can't say I've noticed any change. My local McDonalds is still packed whenever I go there and the McCafe's are pretty popular as well. It still seems to be as popular as it ever was.

Agreed. Perhaps things might be different in the US or other countries, but McDonalds still seems to be quite popular/successful here in Australia.
At just about any shopping centre food court which have them, Maccas is usually the most popular of the fast food chains from what I've seen.

To be honest the only time I ever go there is if I go on road trips if there are no other places to eat at. Usually, I go to Chick-Fil-A and yes I have realized it has become just as popular as McDonald's. As a child back then, I would always go there for the happy meals. Those apples that came in the baggie back then were the best aside from the toys you received in the box. Today I continue to see cars in the parking lot or at the drive-thru. I think the restaurant is still relatively popular.

I think it's only becoming more popular here. Every time they have some dumb coupon through their app it lights up social media. Just because I can eat from the dumpster for free doesn't mean I'm gonna do it. IMO fast food apps need to be banned. The obesity crisis keeps getting worse. I'm not enthusiastic about Chick Fil A opening up in Toronto either. Wherever fast food opens up obesity follows.

The responses are actually kind of surprising lol. Here in New Jersey not a lot of people really eat at McDonald's anymore, it's all Chick Fil A now. I want to get Khal and prodanny288's opinion on this since we all live in the same state.

It's probably a very local thing then lol. I've literally never saw anyone at my school get McDonald's. It's always Chick Fil A.

What even is Chick Fil A? I assume it's similar to KFC?

What even is Chick Fil A? I assume it's similar to KFC? It's another fast food place with waffle shaped fries, sweet tea and chicken sandwiches. It's definitely popular over here.

I'd say McDonald's is still popular, however, I agree that Chick Fil A is popular too.

Yes, in Australia, it is probably the most popular fast food outlet. But there are only a few drive through/fast food restaurants here, so that's probably why it's popular.
When I was in America, I noticed there were so many better fast food outlets, and the times I had McDonalds there, the taste wasn't as good as in Australia. Though, the restaurants seemed to be cleaner, with free hand sanitiser dispensers and paper underneath the soft serve ice cream.
