I can't remember if it's been asked before, but how did you get into alternative-rock and Oasis?

Whoops. The questions are building up here! Maybe he's just giving longaotian a run for his money, lol. You put the most thought into them out of any of us! I still don't know how you were able to think of so many different questions to ask telemelbs . You would hope not! One of him is more than enough to handle. You think? It helps that telemelbs co-operates with such silly questions at times!

Whoops. The questions are building up here! At this rate, poor Qwerty will have to type up an essay-long response to answer everyone's questions.

I've been a little busy with schoolwork, sorry about the lack of answers! I can't remember if it's been asked before, but how did you get into alternative-rock and Oasis? It mainly began from listening to the radio. One of the first bands I listened to was Savage Garden, through radio airplay but I also found their debut album in the CD collection. The alternative rock interest really only started last year, I was watching song compliations from the 2000s and 2010s and liked some songs featured in them. I also accidently re-discovered some nostalgic songs from the mid 2000s. A couple of those were by Linkin Park, and that made me listen to their other songs. I think the interest in the other 90s songs came simply from songs played on the radio and YouTube video recommendations. A lot of it comes from what I remember hearing on the radio when I was younger, and that sort of music always resonated with me. Green Day is an interesting one, I liked them from about 2013, now I know more of their songs than I did back then. Oasis was a little different. I liked Wonderwall from around 2016, so listened to their other songs. I now prefer their lesser played material and enjoy some of Liam Gallagher's solo stuff as well. There's the first essay.

What got you interested in Australian TV/Media? I think it was something I was interested in from a young age. I knew the names of quite a few news presenters even when I was about five years old. The first TV presentation element I remember is the Seven News 'helicopter' opener, which really caught my eye as a kid. I cut out TV guides from the Herald Sun when I was around 7 years old, not sure whether I kept them but I hope I did as they would be an interesting historical reference. I also made up my own TV service called 'Freetel' I can't remember how I came across Media Spy a few years ago, perhaps I was looking for something and found the site. It made me focus more on the presentation of (initially) Seven News, which later expanded to everything else. I think the YouTube videos of old content from uploaders (such as yourself) began an interest in that. The longer time on MS has lead to more of an interest, even if the place annoys me sometimes.

Favourite holiday destination? Haven't been to many places for holiday, but I would say the Gold Coast. Would like to go to Sydney and London! EyewitnessTV I would say chocolate for favourite food. (Hard to quote both posts on mobile). I have now caught up!

Ah okay, that's interesting to hear about. It's good that you got into the genre through your own means rather than simply hearing it from your parents. Did you discover "Wonderwall" from hearing it on the radio as well? Speaking of Linkin Park, I think you would actually enjoy the songs off the Hybrid Theory EP. It was released the year before the album of the same name. Chester was in a grunge band called Grey Daze before joining Linkin Park and all of the members of Linkin Park were influenced by alt-rock, so you can really hear those influences in their early releases. I've shared a few songs if you are interested in checking them out. I personally think many of their demos and unreleased songs are better than the songs found on the albums.

I’ll ask two this time. What states in Australia have you travelled to before, and have you ever been overseas?

I’ll ask two this time. What states in Australia have you travelled to before, and have you ever been overseas? I have only visited Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and of course Victoria. I've never been overseas, but I have a Passport. We were going to go to New Zealand in 2012.
