It’s obviously a 2010s year by name but it felt like the 2010s declined this year. That doesn’t mean we are culturally in the 20s but still the overall year feels very different from the general core 2010s. Champion apparel is more popular than Hipster fashion, the Post Malone song Circles could be the next new sound, mumble rap/trap is on the decline, new pop stars like Billie Eilish and Lizzo. new subcultures like VSCO girls and e-boy/e-girls emerged from TikTok.
We have 2 months left of 2019 and who knows how much changes there’ll be throughout. Does anyone feel that way?

But trap music peaked this year... Other than that, great summary! Dont forget to add Billie Eilish as well

It’s amazing that the #1 single right now is a piano ballad and will probably be replaced by another ballad from Selena Gomez!

I said this a few months ago, the vibe changed around late June, you could feel ish wrapping up around the time around Game of Thrones finale in May

But what about Lil Tecca, Travis Scott, NBA Yungboy, Lil Nas X, and Juice WRLD? There were still more in 2017-2018. Lil Nas X is a pop rapper to me. NBA Youngboy is not that big on the charts. Travis Scott is more experimental with the Trap sound. Juice WRLD is just an Emo rapper with Trap beats. Lil Tecca might be the biggest example but he’s more from the SoundCloud scene. The biggest “Trap” songs of 2019 are Old Town Road, Truth Hurts, and 7 Rings

This has gotta be a shitty year for music. I'm not saying the mid 2010s were good. But I'd take that over this shitty era any day.

How can you say it doesn't feel like the 2010s? Not only is it still the 2010s, for starters, but we don't even know what the 2020s will be like as they don't exist yet. This is decadeology. Thread locked.
