2017-2018 school year was so blah. I was a freshman in high school. I would not go back if I got the opportunity.

The 2017-2018 season sucked. It was basically the 2010s version of the 2005-2006 school year with shitty movies, shitty music, shitty TV, shitty fashion, shitty pop culture. Both of those school years had Republican presidents, Bush in 2005-2006 season, Trump in 2017-2018 school year, and followed the same Chinese zodiac astrological patterns. 2006 and 2018 were dog years. 2017-2018 was the last core 2010s season, but the first outright late 2010s cultural school year. I hated 2017-2018 season as it was going on, a dark time for me. I still hate it looking back. Not even COVID will ever get me nostalgic for this craptacular school year. In November 2017, I was so happy that the shitty ass year was almost over. I couldn’t wait until December. I actually had a dream in April 2017 that it was already December. 2021 is so much better for me personally. I’d take late 2018 through 2021 in a heartbeat any day over 2017 through mid 2018. I found 2016-2017 school year to be better than the 2017-2018 season. 2017-2018 school year was a fucking bummer to begin with. Actually 2017 as a whole year was a fucking bummer to begin with. I can’t wait until pop culture is fully removed from the boring ass 2017-2018 season culture. 2017 was good until I got to high school. January to August was great for me

I found Q1 2017 slightly more tolerable than Q4 2017. I think that’s because Q1 2017 was still caught in that mid to late 2010s transition. Q4 2017 felt fully late 2010s.

It did start to get better in the second semester of sophomore year though (so the 2019 part). Junior and senior year were better, despite COVID starting in March of my junior year. Pop culture started getting more exciting in 2019.

I enjoyed 2017 from start to finish, regardless of a few problems here and there. Probably my second favourite year in my lifetime so far!
