Wasn't "Lady Marmalade" in 2001 the time where Christina Aguilera transitioned to a mature sound? Yes !!! I remember that song being played heavy in June during the final weeks of 7th grade for some reason

I thought Teen Pop rapidly started declining in Febraury 2001 and ended in May/June... Otherwise though, you still had Y2K R&B topping the charts up until May where Rock or Glam Rap took over.

Teen pop did start declining in February 2001 and faded out with a gradient in May/June of 2001 things don't just go poof it's gone lol It declined every month onward from Feb more and more and more however Mid 2001 is when it became really noticeable by me that things were starting to change. They easy answer is just to say Mid 2001 which would be May without making it complicated. Whenever Shrek the movie came out is when I started noticing it without hindsight. I knew something was off in Feb of that year but it wasn't until later that I realized what happened.

May 2001 is the end of the Y2K era but any Y2K vibes ended in August/September

May 2001 is the end of the Y2K era but any Y2K vibes ended in August/September Lets try to stay on topic please lol May when Shrek came out it was noticeable there was a small shift and that y2k era was done, there was small trinkets of residue that would take to August to complete tho. Those trinkets were not that notable tho. The MTV 2001 VMA's were in the first week September and because of that the KISS FM stations that had an MTV TRL countdown (MTV had their own countdown on KISS FM stations) "some" y2k pop was played briefly for the nominee songs that were up for an award. As soon as the 2001 VMA awards were over (The one that had Britney with the Snake) Kiss Fm stations stopped playing songs that were up for nominees and it was business as usual.
