7food will be closed early next year it seems Seems like it's December 28 according to TVTonight. To be honest, I thought it had already closed!

To be honest, I thought it had already closed! I never watched the channel since I didn't have access to it on my TV! (as its doesn't support MPEG2 and the channel isn't on Foxtel IQ2)

Also, add the fact it wasn't available to every viewer, you can understand why the channel failed.

Although 7Food Network is/was available to me (being someone who lives in Sydney and has equipment capable of receiving MPEG4 channels), I can't say I remember properly watching it for more than a few moments. Oh well, at least the demise of 7Food should eventually result in there being two MPEG4 HD channels available via the Seven Network multiplex. While I don't really watch much on 7mate, I'd rather have access to both it and the main channel in HD (if nothing else, the availability of both Seven and 7mate in HD should end most of the complaints about sports coverage not being available to watch in HD) than yet another food channel - there's plenty of cooking shows on the main channels & regular multichannels as it is!

Indeed. The channel was a complete waste of money and time, and Seven would’ve been better off upgrading one of the other existing channels to start with. I can kinda understand why the regional affiliates never bothered picking 7food up at any stage.
