But my point still stands. We need to keep moving forward. Ok, but there's no need to be so dismissive. I was just trying to start a conversation with you and explain why I think '80s nostalgia is likely to continue over the next few years. I get that, but honestly even with that aside, I see no reason that 80s nostalgia should be so prominent when much of the 80s will be turning 40 years old by 2025. Now, I will say that it does make more sense than 70s nostalgia in the 2010s, as that decade was much worse overall, at least culturally. But still, it's getting a bit old because of how prominent 80s nostalgia seems to be in the 2010s.

This resurgence of hate, homophobia, bigotry, and religious fundamentalism that has infected every aspect of America in 2019. I’m not holding my breath though. It’s going to get much worse before it gets better, if it ever does in our lifetimes.

80s nostalgia (the 80s are almost 40 years old) Absolutely this. Looks like we're not done unfortunately.

The terms 90s kid and 2000s kid along with stupid generation labels like baby boomers, gen x, gen y, and gen z. They should not define a generation for 2020 babies.

80s nostalgia (the 80s are almost 40 years old) Absolutely this. Looks like we're not done unfortunately. The 80s right now has the same nostalgic treatment as the 50s in the 70s/80s. I personally think that 90s nostalgia will be more popular than the 80s in the next decade.

So when will 2000s nostalgia and 2010s nostalgia be popular? How about 20s nostalgia?

Just like in the late 90s-early 2000s, people were nostalgic about the 70s. In the mid 20s, people will feel nostalgia for the 2000s and 90s nostalgia will die.

That's not true at all; www.vulture.com/2016/10/2016-why-are-we-obsessed-with-the-80s.htmlThat post is from 2016, but even in 2019, there are still radio stations all across the country dedicated solely to '80s music, and I would argue '80s nostalgia is still slightly more prevalent as of now than '90s nostalgia.

@allee put this into words, but I think "memes" as a personality trait definitely needs to go away. It was cute in the early 2010s but now I find it to be rather disagreeable, to put it nicely.

hipsters political correctness Trump mass shootings 5tinkyp00t, the Hipster culture trend is dead. Advertisements that were made this year are not being made using Hipster designs like they were last decade. In addition to that, Hipster fonts are not being used in media & marketing this year. Plus, no one is wearing flannel/plaid shirts this year. Another thing I want to say is that the places Hipsters own and frequent (art galleries, yoga studios, independent coffee shops, etc) are no longer going to be in business once this economic recession and pandemic is over. Another thing I want to say is that the Indie Pop and Indie Rock (The two types of music that Hipsters listen to) are no longer popular. Lastly, the folks in the Hipster demo are settling down and moving to the suburbs right now. With that being said, the Hipster culture trend is dead.
