I didn't particularly love or hate this decade, though I could've done without the global events of this latter half. I'm simultaneously excited and terrified for the new decade - anything is possible, but current events suggest horrors await.

The 2010s ended in like 2018 tbh. I wouldn't be surprised to see this 2018/2019 culture last to 2024 or so since the trends are fresh. I expect Trump to be re-elected too so there's that. But we have the PS5 to look forward to in 2021. What makes you think that? IMO that is far from the truth. If anything, 2018 was probably the quintessential late 2010's year. There's no way 2020's culture was already happening in 2018. Yep, 2018 was basically a watered-down 2017.

Kind of fitting in a way that the last day of the 2010s, a tumultuous decade in many respects, is being experienced here with hundreds of fires burning across the country and the NYE fireworks displays being cancelled in the majority of areas as a result. Good riddance to the 2010s.

Well, I know it's a not a problem at all because theres literally gonna be no difference between December 2019 and January 2020 but I'm honestly gonna miss the 2010s too. But I've been feeling this way since Late 2018.
I'll never forget my childhood decade. Phineas and Ferb, Spongebob, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Overwatch, Fortnite, Roblox, Club Penguin, Witcher 3, and other things pretty much defined my childhood.
But let's make the 2020s even better, shall we?! 😃

I think Trump will win New Hampshire, Maine and maybe even Minnesota in 2020, and he'll win back the House. It's going to be worse than 2016. But I've rescinded myself to it, and focus my energies on other positive things. It must suck to actually have to deal with the consequences of all that. I doubt that Trump wins New Hampshire, Maine, or Minnesota but I guess anything is possible. Of course that all changes if a third-party spoiler candidate runs. I think it's going to shake out like this, but with Trump losing even more of the popular vote than he did last time, barely winning the electoral college. EDIT: I realized in the first map that I gave Nevada to Trump when it's highly unlikely that it will not be a blue state. It could be an electoral college tie, with Mike Pence getting to be the tiebreaker vote. www.270towin.com/maps/N8WZGWow, you managed to be more apocalyptic than me. I don't think that seat in Nebraska is going blue while Iowa goes red though, that would be very random. New Hampshire/Maine/Minnesota are 95%+ white and I could see Trump race baiting again this election, he only lost them by the very thinnest of margins in 2016. The 2010s ended in like 2018 tbh. There's no way 2020's culture was already happening in 2018. I didn't mean to say it was 2020s, just that it wasn't (core) 2010s. There's a big difference between 2011-2016 and 2018/2019 in my opinion, not just the politics but also the trends too. It was the first full Gen Z year. Parkland shooting, Fortnite, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, BTS (K-Pop), Cambridge Analytica scandal, late 90s fashion revival, Airpods, smart speakers etc. A lot of these were late 2017 but I don't wanna be nit-picky.

But also I feel like you could say "[Year] was a watered down version of [Previous Year]" for just about any year.

I feel like you either really really loved 2016 or you really really hated it and there's no in between. There's gonna be people that are nostalgic for summer 2020 like people are now for summer 2016. You're also going to have another half of people constantly bash on it. I feel like that's how 2020 will be remembered in the future. I could be wrong though.

I hope it's not too different from 2019 though in terms of fashion, because it still feels new and I haven't jumped on any of it yet I don't wanna be that dude whose photo in the future January 2020 Atmosphere thread makes people say "wow it still looks 2010s"

I worry more about what happens immediately if Trump loses than if he wins. I don't think Trump will accept defeat and things could get very interesting. If he wins though, I don't think America survives another four years.

I’m about to enter the last day in about 10 minutes. Say what you want about the 2010s but I always found enjoyment in the decade, well at least the first half of the decade.

Trump's support is more religious in nature, in my opinion, than it is racial. There are white nationalist elements of his base but I think those are a much smaller percentage of his supporters. The religious right is Trump's true base. The election is going to be primarily about abortion, gay rights, and the question of whether we are a Christian nation or not. Trump represents this idea of white Christian America, an America represented well in the old sitcoms of the 1950s like 'Leave it to Beaver.' It's not about Trump himself, who many will admit has questionable morals, but the judges he is appointing and the fact they view Democrats as demon possessed baby killers who hate America and hate Christians.

The parted/permed hairstyle is more fresher and newer than a undercut.
