It's definitely surreal and kind of scary to watch the world of my young adulthood fade away. First, I turned 30 in 2015 and then 2017 marked the end of the Obama Presidency. Hipster culture and EDM faded and fashion changed. Now the 2010s are ending.

Seeing all the apocalyptic photos of Australia in the 2020s, I am glad we are still in the 2010s with clean air. Literally the decade from hell.

Oh man, I know the feeling. When I started this decade, I was 19 and just on the cusp of going from single to in a relationship for the first time in my life. Now I am married to that girlfriend and our daughter will turn 10 months old in a week. Also, I saw you're a fan of Adventure Time. Talk about a decade-defining show! Man, I miss it too.

The celebrations for the new decade have been very subdued here. Most of the coverage on the breakfast TV shows have been dedicated to covering the latest news regarding the 100+ bushfires which are burning across Australia's south-east. I haven't seen a new years celebration this toned down before, it's as if New Years Eve never happened. It's understandable though.

And as such we've entered the neo-20s And with the Australia wildfires, I guess you could also call the decade the " Roaring 20s".
