Selena and BlackPink have recently released a collab. And ew, it's completely tuneless.
But I noticed this trend for k-pop artists lately where they release fully English songs in order to better target the Western markets.

Kpop has definitely gone downhill nowadays IMO. It was a lot better back in 2007-2013.

I'm noticing something. Juice Wrld released Come & Go more than a month ago. Mood is about to hit the top ten in a next week. This song is rising on Spotify. It's a pop punk/trap crossover type song. Could this be an early 2020s song?

^ Rock has definitely been making something of a resurgence over the past six months or so. Bring Me The Horizon and YUNGBLUD released this new collaboration single a few days ago and it's actually doing really well on the iTunes Charts, its currently the 6th most purchased song worldwide:
Also, Machine Gun Kelly's new album is slated to be a pop-punk record, and many are tipping that Post Molone is currently working on a rock record after his Nirvana tribute concert back in April. Will be interesting to see if this continues.

I'll believe it when I see it. I will say this year has been great for the emo/pop punk/post-hardcore scene though, alternative/underground though it is:

I'm really liking this new grungy, melancholic song I heard on B-Rock for the first time a few nights ago, it was only released back in March. I'd highly suggest giving this a listen if you're interested in hearing some new rock!

Wow, I was really bummed out in Sam Smith after that godawful collab with Demi Lovato. But this one is truly one of the greatest pop songs I've heard this year. Love this!
Zzzzzz Just more boring kiss-off sludge from him. And why is he trying to revive the mid-00s shaggy haircut?

I can't believe what I am seeing, one of Machine Gun Kelly's new pop-punk songs has jumped up to #41 on the ARIA Chart this week. Okay, calling it a pop-punk song may be something of a stretch since it has hip-hop beats in it, but it's the closest thing we've had to a legitimate rock song within the Top-50 in quite a while.

Not a huge fan of the song, but at least the Lady Gaga with envelope-pushing videos like in the early '10s is back!

I get the impression that Lady Gaga intended Chromatica to be something of a homage to her earlier electropop work. "Stupid Love" reminds me a lot of "The Edge of Glory", especially during its bridge. It will be interesting to see if this new single comes close to matching the success of "Rain On Me". I have my doubts, tbh. I don't believe "Rain On Me" would have been the hit that it was had Ariana Grande not featured in the track.

Machine Gun Kelly debuts two songs on the top 10 Spotify charts. It's interesting to see that he was beefing with Eminem two years ago and now makes pop rock records.
