The period from 2000 to 2003 was absolutely the peak of my childhood. From Gameboy Advance to Mandy Moore, this was my golden age. I was getting bullied in school but I didn’t care so long as I had my roleplaying on StarCraft, I honestly didn’t even give a shit.

I was only a year old in the year 2000 and I obviously have no memories of the year at all, but yet, I can still associate so many of those things with my childhood in some way. Hybrid Theory was the album that got me into music when I was 4, I watched shows such as "Malcolm in the Middle", "Survivor" and "Sheep in the Big City" as a kid, I had The Grinch and Rugrats in Paris on VHS when I was little. So even though I have no personal recollections or bias towards the year itself, the fact that 2000 is now two decades old is something that is still hard for me to accept. These songs are also turning 20 years old this year:

It's hard to believe that 2000 babies won't be teenagers anymore by the end of the year. All babies of the last millennium will be 20 or older, and all teens will be born afterwards (technically the new millennium began in 2001).
Casey from Pokemon is turning 20 years old in October!! (In Japan she already has) she hasn't been seen in the anime since 2006...

On the 6th, I caught up with a close friend of mine a day before his 20th birthday and for most of the visit, he made a big deal over the fact that he was not looking forward to turning 20 and how he was becoming old. I couldn't help but bag him out for it. So the year 2000 turning 20 does have it's advantages! I have another friend who turns 20 on the 9th of May, that will be another good opportunity for me to make fun of my friends, lol.

Nah Slowpoke. Mario Party 3. I actually didn't own Mario Party 2–my cousin who lived in a neighbourhood across the street did. We had a pact where we wouldn't buy the same game as each other (so we could beg our parents to get two different set of games). I was the one who owned Mario Party 3. Their house was a lot more popular with the neighbourhood kids than mine when it came to playing Mario Party. Mario Party 2 was just all around more fun in my (our) opinions. But not to worry, my house had Super Smash Bros, so it wasn't a complete snoozefest
