But yeah, just comparing the January 2001 atmosphere to the October/November 2001 photo album feels like 2 different worlds...

But yeah, just comparing the January 2001 atmosphere to the October/November 2001 photo album feels like 2 different worlds... That is how it felt by the time I got there, earlier half for me felt boring as hell, final part felt like some sort of fast paced movie. I have made no secret about it how boring the first part I felt was lol January 2001 consisted of me roaming the halls walking into random classrooms and doing anything to get out of class. Seeing George Bush Jr as the new President was weird as hell at the time.

And people say the early 2000s was still the 90s lmao. You really don't see it? Maybe my perspective is a bit different as someone who just started becoming culturally aware in 1998 or so, but I see no inconsistency in lumping these periods together. I think the style evolved over time from 1998 to 2004, but it was still unmistakably a single cultural period. It's just the same as how I categorize 2004 to 2009 as a cohesive whole, despite changes over time.

Hey John, is it ok if I do a February 2001 atmosphere photo album? I want all of the months of 2001 to be represented, and I promise I'll try to make it accurate as possible.

I know people here like to make a big deal of shifts and stuff, but I don't think it was perceptively noticeable month by month (February 2001 looked more or less identical to January 2001)

This is a pretty awesome era for me, looking back. This was about halfway through my favorite school year ever, 2000-01. I was a young junior high kid back then. I was playing a lot of games I had gotten for Christmas 2000 like Spyro 3 and Pokemon Gold and Silver. I was also watching plenty of WB shows and kids stuff on Cartoon Network and Nick. Toonami was arguably peaking, and so was the WWF with the lead up to the Stone Cold vs. The Rock feud. So much speculation about the PlayStation 2, which had just launched, as we were having the last days of the 5th Gen consoles. With the early '00s now at 20 years old, I miss them a lot.
