This might be next one, but I am more excited for Hayley William's solo debut (and am still in the mood for moar bubblegum/electro pop) That's interesting, I didn't actually know about Hayley Williams releasing a solo album! How long has it been out for? For some reason I thought it was already out. Looks like it's coming out in May. I still gotta listen to Paramore's 2013/2017 albums though. I listened to a couple of songs off the 2013 one, but disappointingly it didn't sound like anything Ain't It Fun or Still Into You, it sounded much like their 2000s stuff, which isn't bad on its own but I was hoping they would have evolved by then. No excuses to not be indie by 2013 imo.

Gonna have to check out this Capsule if it's a 4.5 star It's a super spazzy and manic house album, with some j-pop and punk influences. High chance you'd like it

I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I finally got around to checking out a Courtney Barnett album tonight. Being an Australian, I've known about her for at least five years or so, however it was hearing "City Looks Pretty" on FIFA 19 which introduced me to her music. I love it. It would have to be one of my favourite songs from 2018, it's great. So with liking "City Looks Pretty" so much, I was really keen to check out Courtney's other releases.
The album of hers I decided to check out was Tell Me How You Really Feel, her second and most recent album as of now. Look, i'll be totally honest, I was going into this expecting to like it for what it is. I know that Courtney Barnett is an alt-rock artist and her work has frequently been compared to that of the '90s Seattle scene, so with being a massive alt-rock fan myself, my overall perception of the album is somewhat clouded due to my bias towards the genre. I can't judge this album in the same way that I could have if alt-rock wasn't my favourite genre of music. In saying that though, Tell Me How You Really Feel truly is a decent record on it's own merit. You'll find the overall listening experience enjoyable if you're into lo-fi or alternative music. I can really hear the Nirvana influence in this album.
The only thing about TMHYRF which I could see polarising people is Courtney's singing style. She's known for her deadpan, sing-talk vocals. I generally don't have an issue with them, however with that said, there are some songs (e.g "Need a Little Time) in which it doesn't come off to great effect. Not to say that she's a terrible vocalist; she's very talented. A bit of variety in her vocal technique wouldn't hurt though. A number of the songs sounded quite drab and uninspired simply due to her vocal style. There's nothing wrong with it in general, it's just finding the right balance and determining when the vocal style best fits a song.

In a 'listening' mood right now, so i'm reviewing another album..oh yeah, it's another Green Day album. Revolution Radio. I have a bit of a backstory to this. "Bang Bang" was one of my favourite songs when I was 17. I blasted the hell out of that song when I was driving around on my red P's back in 2016 and some people would give me looks when they stopped beside me at a set of traffic lights. "Revolution Radio" was another song off RevRad that I liked and I downloaded it onto a USB as well. One of my friends was really into this album shortly after it came out. We would both listen to tracks off this (me "Bang Bang" and "Revolution Radio", him "Still Breathing") through our headphones on the computers during Multimedia. Ah, year 11. Yet, despite liking a couple of the tracks at the time it was new, this is the first time I've actually listened to the album in full. It's a mixed bag unfortunately. There have been people who have brought this up on RateYourMusic, but I really don't like the production on this album. It's way too polished and watered-down. This is a common complaint about post- American Idiot Green Day. The tracks on this album are just too "clean", it doesn't sound that good. The tracks themselves are enjoyable for the most part . "Bang Bang" and "Revolution Radio" still remain favourites of mine, but I also really like "Somewhere Now", "Outlaws" and "Bouncing off the Wall". The biggest stinker here though is "Still Breathing". I can remember not being too bothered about the song four years ago and I still don't particularly like it now. Billie Joe's vocals are the biggest turnoff, not too mention how "safe" the song is and the cringy lyrics. Really don't know why my friend liked this so much. I can't see myself returning to this album anytime soon, however I did enjoy it overall.

I didn't know you liked angsty nu-metal.

Blind Melon - Soup (1995): ★★★ You sure do listen to some obscure albums. Listening to albums from one-hit wonders would be quite interesting though, I may even do that with another '90s alt-rock one-hit wonder (e.g The Wallflowers).

Telso is killing it! I only just finished my 6th album yesterday. Paramore's 2013 self-titled. I was expecting the album to be more Ain't It Fun but it ended up being more like Still Into You. That had me disappointed at first because I was hoping for a more indie rock sound, but the more I listened to it the more I realized this album is just pure fun, and all the songs go so well together. 4 stars!

Blink 182's was the better comeback of 2016.
