There's two notable things about November 2001 for me.
This is the last month of the 5th Gen gaming consoles for me, because the next month I got a PlayStation 2 for Christmas and officially advanced to the next gen.
The WWF vs. Alliance match to decide who would take over the company. This was sort of the last big time hyped thing to happen during the late '90s early '00 wrestling boom.

I copped a ps2 around the same time as you, as you prob already are aware we copped the early defective DVD drive ones, those system died in withen 2 years constant DISC READ ERROR messages, if yours didn't break consider it a fluke I remember the night after Survivor Series Austin turned good again with no explanation lol I have to argue tho with you saying its the last hyped thing, that would have to go to Rock vs Hogan build heading into Wrestlemania X-8, everyone in my class was talking about it, former WCW fans came back to watch it also ratings for RAW went back up temporarily. Hulk Hogan was also constantly in the news around this time as well, Hogan coming back to WWF was a HUGE deal. After he won the WWF title at Backlash 2002 yeah ratings started tanking again and people stopped talking about wrestling.

I'm not sure, i'm sort of caught between two minds if it would better to base the threads on individual years or of the cultural eras. Say if there was a "Post your Early 2010s pics" thread, would it seem too broad? I mean, you'd potentially have pictures from the year 2010 mixed in with ones from 2013. I think I lean more towards us creating them based on individual years, tbh. It's up to what everyone thinks would work best of course. What I might do is create a thread about this idea in the Polls sub-forum, just so that we can get a feeler for how many people would be interested in seeing these threads created and who would be willing to share their own photos. Yeah the biggest reason why I say that is because there would be so many threads. Maybe we could compile a bunch after sharing into some kind of Popedia timeline.

Yeah, I can still recall watching when Stone Cold turned face again after the pay per view. I was excited because I've always been a huge Stone Cold fan and hated his heel turn. And you're right about Hogan coming back to the WWF being a big deal. That match he had with The Rock was huge. After Stone Cold and The Rock left though was when I stopped watching.

I remember it well It stopped being popular after 2002, but briefly ratings went up again during the whole Batista/Cena rise for a tiny bit. The last RAW to get a 5.0 nielsen rating was the 2006 Edge Lita Live sex celebration.

I was an Edge fan (yeah he is douchey but he is Canadian) so I was happy he got back at Kane. I think it all peaked around the Y2K era (WWF Attitude era) with another spike around 2005/2006 (John Cena) era.

The second spike is around Royal Rumble 2005 - Wrestlemania 21, then cooled off a bit in the fall, then jakked back up again around January 2006 around the time of LIVE SEX celebration.

Sounds about right, I found this graph online. www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/blnwat/raw_ratings_graph_from_1996_till_2019/Looks like it peaked 1999/2000 up until 2002, with another small bump around 2005/2006.

Raw ratings now a days are between 1.9- 2.5 Million pretty damn sad

Do people really enjoy TV wrestling that much? I've always thought of it as the McDonald's of entertainment, even as a kid.

I had a friend who lived in the same street as me when I was around 8/9 who had his whole bedroom decorated in WWE posters. I've never understood the appeal in it though.

Back during the late '90s and early '00s everybody was watching it, especially kids. Like literally every week it would be about the main thing kids would be talking about, especially if there had been a big match or something. These days, though, it's pretty much irrelevant and has been for quite a while.

My dad also watched it in the 80s and was real hyped for the Hulk Hogan comeback around 2002.
