Don't scare me. Flow hair (or hockey hair as we call it up here) and mullets are two different things!

Yes. Funnily enough, I was thinking about this a couple of days ago.
From an Australian perspective, their popularity has certainly increased. The short sides/mullet airstyle has become quote popular among teenagers and young adults (let's say around 15-22 years old). They are not to the extent of the above pictures, but they are still mullets. I personally think it looks horrendous, but each to their own I guess...

This is the only mullet I like: {Spoiler} In all seriousness though, as Qwerty pointed out, they have definitely increased in popularity here in Australia at least over the past couple of years. I personally don't know anyone who is sporting one, but I've seen a few reports on TV about how they are becoming "in vogue" again. They deserve to be long forgotten about as far as i'm concerned.

Interestingly, when I was searching for images, so many linked back to an Australian story. Looks like Aus gets to be ahead this time I’ve only seen a few subtle mullets or the more extreme alt kind. If we consider the fashion is cyclical principle, it’s not terribly surprising. We’ve been through two whole decades now where it has ranged from something people want to avoid to practically taboo. It’s basically the opposite of the popular “Meet me at McDonald’s” cut which makes it sort if hilarious. While I’m not a fan of most of the styles, I do think it’s part of the movement towards more flexible mens fashion, and perhaps for women, less of a need to look feminine.

First they killed the koalas and now they killed fashion! ...and we're keeping Carly Rae Jepson relevant. Wtf is wrong with us?!
