When I think of 1988-1992, I think of New Jack Swing, Golden Age of Hip Hop, Golden Age of Nickelodeon, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and Family matters. What would you name this era?
What we already have: 1914-1918: World War 1 1920-1929: The Roaring 20s 1930-1939: Great Depression Era 1939-1945: World War 2 1967-1970: Hippie Era 1974-1981: Disco Era 1998-2001: Y2K Era 2001-2003: Mall Pop Era 2008-2013: Electropop Era

I literally was gonna half-jokingly suggest the neon era lmaoo. But that could also describe 2009-2013 so it’s a no go. The Jazz Solo Cup era?

Wasn't that a '90s thing? I remember them from my childhood, at least.

Actually, as ridiculous as it may seem, maybe the Neon era could work. 2008-2013 already has a name (Electropop Era)

^^ Actually, nevermind. Slowpoke was right that people wouldn't know what you're talking about if you simply call it the Neon era...
But I have two names that could make sense like: The Neighties or the Xennial Era. You guys may disagree but I think the Xennial era fits the 1988-1992 time period pretty well.

I don't know but, 1988 and 1992 were very different years for a number of reasons, I definitely wouldn't group them together.

As far as I noticed 1988-1989 fasion-wise were actually fairly muted compared to the mid-1980s due to the abundance of acid wash, blazers and leather. So I don't think "neon era" is appropriate.

I agree. And people forget that late 1990 to mid 1991 had a lot less 80s influence than than people associate that time with. That period has a lot in common with late 1991 to mid 1992 as well.
