Same question asked from inthe00s.com, do you guys think there'll be more 90s inspired music in the 2020s? In the 2010s, there has been a lot of songs with 80s influence with modern elements. I have a feeling that some songs will be inspired by New Jack Swing, Teen Pop, G-Funk, Eurodance, or Grunge. 90s nostalgia will most likely continue throughout the 2020s I believe.

If the '90s are to have a significant influence on the music of the 2020s, I think it will primarily be in the form of bedroom-pop becoming popular. Grunge, I think, is as good as dead and even speaking as someone who is a huge fan of the genre, I can't see it being of any influence to 2020s pop music. Teen-pop isn't strictly a '90s genre. I do believe we'll most likely get another wave sometime during this decade, possibly during the Late 2020s.

I wish they wouldn't keep bringing things back it's time for a new fresh sound what happened to originality? There is a lot of creative and innovative music out there (especially on music streaming platforms), but music culture is so vast nowadays that everyone has their own niche.
