They're known as poker machines here in Australia, however I've referred to them as "slot machines" in the title to avoid any confusion. I've generally had a good track record on the pokies so far. Admittedly, I've only played them 5 or 6 times at the most since my 18th birthday, however I've only lost money once. Tonight I put in $5 each on two separate machines and I won $15 on the first machine. I didn't win anything when I put $5 in on the second one, however I still left home with $5 extra than what I had when I went into the club. The biggest win I've had on a pokie so far is $25, which was only about a month ago. I'm a bit of a square though when it comes to playing the pokies. I generally only play 5 or 10 lines at 1c. Have you played a slot/pokie machine before? If so, do you have much luck when you play them and how often have you won on one?

Never played a slot machine but I could have when I was on a cruise last month, instead I just tried this thing where it’s like those crane machine games with stuffed animals, but instead of them it was money.
My friend pulled me away form it after trying it three times 😂 casinos are meh to me, it’s like going to an arcade except it reeks of cigarette smoke and you can ruin your life more easily XD

I don't know anyone who has ever actually won a prize from the stuffed animal ones especially and I think they're designed in a way to make it almost impossible to pick anything up with the crane. Nine times out of ten, the stuffed animal will drop the exact moment the crane goes to pick it up. That's why I very rarely play them. They literally are just a waste of money. Yeah, fair points. I think slot machines are fun to play every once in a while, as long as you know when to stop and if you go in with the mindset that you're not going to win anything. The slot machine areas (including the ones in casinos) here in Australia are actually smoke-free zones thankfully, which is a huge deal breaker for me, because I would have no interest in playing on one if they were in an area where people smoked.
