New Zealand, once again showing Australia how it's done. It's seeing things like this which makes me hate the Australian public more and more. Yeah the whole country is basically shutting down. There's definitely a bit of panic going on this afternoon, but its absolutely the right decision to make.

I'd hate to be living in your state right now tbh. I hope New Jersey doesn't do that.

Geez, does that include 2020-21? That's a shit load of time if so, especially because by early-mid 2021 a vaccine should be developed.

Not just that, but Kansas also closed schools for the remainder of the year. And the California governor is also considering on closing schools for the rest of the year. I feel bad for 2019-20 kids, especially high school seniors who won't experience physical graduation ceremonies, proms, homecoming, etc. This really has affected our lives.

theres rumors they want people to go back to work in 3 weeks with restrictions according to some podcasts, but I still think classes for kids will be canceled for the rest of the year as well as public sporting events

1/3 of the world is now in quarantine, which represents roughly 2 billion people. A first in human history.

Hopefully if it's a twice-in-a-lifetime event, it'll happen when we're like 80 or something since we would've already experienced our lives at that point.

Here's the video.New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern hosted a coronavirus Q&A from her own home last night, answering any questions New Zealanders had for her in regards to the pandemic. I know I sound like a broken record by saying this, but she's such a great leader and NZ should consider themselves very lucky to have her. She seems very genuine, caring and down-to-earth, qualities our Prime Minister personally lacks...

I don't want to jinks it, but Italy's rate of infection and deaths seems to be slowing down. Not in terms of total cases, but if you look at the percentages, it's slowing down. They shut Lombardy down on the 9th I believe, and it's almost roughly 14 days of incubation later now. We could probably start to see them "flatten the curve" over the next couple of days. That still represents some 600+ deaths and 5000+ new cases every day. The percentage might get smaller but that's relative to their already enormous amounts, so it's a false equivalent. I don't usually like to play the hopeless but let's face it, these numbers are still catastrophic. Not implying quarantine is bad though, without it these numbers would have been even worse.
