The UK will be closing all of it's schools until further notice from Friday. Slow AF. Cases are growing exponentially everyday. How can a country like the UK take so much time to do something to slow down that curve? This will undeniably end in a disaster in a few days there. Their rate of infection is currently already soaring.

Schools are still operating here in Australia as per normal and we have a Prime Minister who is stubbornly refusing to give in to what the general public want, that's despite the fact that we've now got over 600 cases. China now having not reported a new case of the virus proves that initiating a full-scale lockdown is the right way to go about managing this pandemic.

I just realised that Victorian school holidays start in a weeks time. So I guess that's why they haven't chose to close schools here yet. But in NSW, I believe it's a week or two later, which is an issue since there will be more pressure on the state to close their schools. And the fact that they have the most cases in Aus is a problem as well.
Honestly, its a huge huge mess right now in Australia. Even Tasmania is closing it's borders now (and Northern Territory is considering this too), this has such an eerie feeling considering they're states and not countries...

Anything can happen during the next three weeks, and i'm fulling expecting the number of cases to go above 1,000 before any action is taken in regards to schools.

The media seriously needs to stop scaring old people by saying it will be so bad here they won’t treat over 80s. Please wait until, god forbid, that actually happens. There’s information and then there’s fear. If these people are sick, they need to seek medical treatment (at this time).

If you act too late like Italy it ends up being catastrophic.

They don't have enough ventilators and are prioritizing people who are more likely to survive. That's why the death rate there is so high, a lot of people who are 70+ are being left to suffocate basically.

What I mean is, it’s not just being reported but they’re saying it is going to happen in the US. I figured out whose Facebook page my grandma is looking at who keeps re-posting this. “This WILL happen, it is COMING.” Some old people I know are getting really, really scared and I want them to stay home, but I don’t want them to have heart issues from the stress.

If I was a old I would be scared right now too tbh. The disease spreads exponentially so while it might sound like not a big deal right now, that could change very quickly. One day a hospital might have 2 or 3 coronavirus patents, the next day its 5, a couple of days later its 30 and the week after its a 100 and they've run out of ventilators and beds and have to start prioritizing.

But the danger lies in them not seeking medical care (for anything) before that were to ever even happen. That’s where we’re at in my family right now.

Yeah, they should definitely go to the doctor if they're sick.
