Bump
Good 4 u by Ophelia Rodriguez
2000s Pop-rock throwback, would never happen in the 2010s, not even in December 31st 2019.
Mood by 24kgold
Generic trap production but it's too melodic and happy for the sad emo-trap, bare-bone late 10s
Anyways, the state of music right now is depressing, specially when you compare to how changeful music was in the early 10s. You had new and exciting music genres rising and falling, songs like Bad romance and California Gurls sounded nothing like the 2000s evn though they came out in the early 10s, now most big hits of 2021 sound straight out of the late 10s.
Tho, i noticed r&b sounds different rn.
Edit: i do think in 2021 the changes are starting to pick pace, late 2021 and 2022 will be amazing changeful years for music imo.

I don't really think Peaches, Levitating, Montero, and Kiss Me More would fit in the late 2010s.

That's what i meant when i mentioned r&b, it's definitely the "freshest" sounding genre right now. It's a matter of time before musicians start ditching pop-trap production for r&b production. I'd say levitating def fit in 2019

This song hit the top ten in many countries and this sounds like a 90s house throwback. It's also an EDM song that's not structured like the 2010s.

I noticed the newer edm songs all have 70s/80s/90s throwback production, contrasting with the "futuristic" eletronic production that was popular 2010-2018. Also, the drop blends in with the rest of the song and the drop is also way less important. Again, a huge contrast when compared to 10s edm where the drop was the central component of the song and it sticked out like a sore thumb.
