I find some ancient civilizations intriguing and barely comprehensible, my core favorites being Egypt and Greece. Egypt has a really badass culture and style and Greece has a really colorful and mythical aesthetic.
What ancient civilization you find appealing aesthetically? Is there any ancient civilization you occasionally think about?

I always found ancient Egypt, Greece and Mayan very interesting.
It’s not something I’ve mentioned on here before, but being a big fan and once regular player of the game AoE series (Age of Empires) I really enjoyed learning playing with the history of many of the ancient civs.

I have a deep interest in ancient civilizations. (Probably comes from my dad being a professor of archaeology) Egyptian, Mayan, Japanese and a few more I find absolutely intriguing. My Dad has done numerous digs in Japan in particular. I have a Foxtel digital subscription purely for the documentary channels which features many different shows in relation to ancient peoples and places. (And of course I have the sports package for the NRL )

I only know much about Egypt unfortunately. I got halfway through a biography of Caesar but I didn't finish it. Anything I know about Greece is from studying philosophy rather than history.
Greece seems the coolest though, for the aforementioned philosophers. Egypt is the most intriguing, whenever there's new finds in Egypt it's exciting.

I'm kinda blown away because I honestly remembered you when I made this topic. lol Greece is beautiful for real tho and has amazing, seemingly real myths. There are just as many underrated but small and niche ancient civilizations I'm just now finding out about. They all intriguing bruh.

I'm reading some books set in 1775-1910 at the moment. I have actually been to Greece (Athens) and seen some of the monuments. I was 5 years old though so didn't really appreciate it, but the memories are good (it was also oppressively hot). I have been to Rome as well but that was when I was 3, I only have the vaguest of memories of it unfortunately, and of course I didn't appreciate any of the history at such a young age.

If you only know the list you mentioned, at least you know the three trios. Haha Rome is very (in your face) and Greece is basically still thriving.
I'm slowly starting to appreciate Nok culture.
