I totally forgot about that intercom beeping noise that was in Walmart all the time. I haven’t heard that since the early 2000s. Remember how fun the camcorder display was at the time? And the lobster tank? That kid crying would have been me then. I’m amazed nobody yelled at them to turn the camera off.

That cam coder display brought too much attention to shoppers in the store lol it's funny I used to do stuff like this all the time in the 90s, just walking around with friends in random stores, esp 1995 even tho I was many a years younger.

We used the same camcorder from 1994 to 2003.

Back in the 90s they had like 50 cams to play with and u could make it black and white and any effect people walking by would stop and just look @ the big ass screen

They thought I was going to break it or something. I’ve had awkward moments where I’ve accidentally broke something in the store. As I kid I always hated when my dad couldn’t make up his mind in the paint aisle or when my mom took forever in the yarn aisle. It was even worse when I got dragged to Menards (local Home Depot type store) or the fabric store. 🙄 Hard places to be in a pre-smartphone era. EDIT: Oh Service Merchandise was a store... Nope. Never been into one.

Ahh Service Merchandise was where I got my Furby. It closed not long after that.
Anyone remember Ames or was that just a New England thing?
Unfortunately I can’t remember the world as it was in this video, but damn would it be fun to go back and explore that WalMart for an hour.

These people sounded real excited just to visit a Walmart lmao. And they went straight to clothing section too, yikes! That baby in the cart could've been me This video was taken in the south, right? Anyone else notice just how little obesity there was in a Walmart (of all places) compared to today? He even thought it remarkable to zoom in on the fat lady in trackpants.

Ames was notorious in its last few years of having broken merchandise, I remember the final week of it closing they had all of these Sega Game Gears in stock from 1993 for 30 bucks, I almost bought one lol

I remember their Christmas closeouts that year. What's uniquely bizarre about Ames is how many of the stores remain vacant to this day, and some aren't even wholly cleared out.

I remember the classic Wal-Mart before they supersized it and changed the logo. Living in NYC I never got to experience walmart as an everyday thing but when I visited NC or Deleware me and my family would always be at walmart. Now since moving to Jacksonville Florida I don't have the same access to walmart like I did in NC since the nearest one is 15 minutes away from where I live. Walmart does get old after a while especially if it's your only big local-retial chain around. Now I only go there once a month.

Remember around 2005 when lots of Walmarts remodeled from their old look?
BTW This has to be THE most classic Walmart commercial.

Also remember when the Walmart ads in the paper use to have the people’s names in the photos for some reason?
