I was browsing newspapers.com and I found this amusing article written 50 years ago for us in 2020! It appears he wrote it for a time capsule to be opened this year.

His predictions didn't turn out to be realistic (the bible still exists, lol), but it's easy to see why someone back in 1970 would have made such ambitious predictions given what was going on at the time.

Not only does the Bible still exist, but the US is closet to becoming a theocracy built around fundamentalist Christianity that it's ever been.

That was cool to read. What's funny to me is how I could probably go into my grandparents house and find things that haven't been touched since 1970, so these time capsules probably aren't as climatic as they hoped.
I almost wonder if he suspected the Bible would be gone based on some science fiction works. Interesting how that's rarely a theme anymore. Dystopia now is losing the internet, which I guess encapsulates that.
I was confused about the drugs causing headaches. Did they just straight up put pot and LSD in there? Can't imagine how crusty that joint would be by now lmao.
