I dont really know anymore. I've lost all hope because of how the government isn't really helping stop the spread. Now we have over 327 cases in Saskatchewan, making me lose all hope until the vaccine, though its unpredictable when it will come.

Things are finally slowing down in Italy, and China has lifted its lockdown on Hubei (though not Wuhan). I don't see this thing lasting into the summer. That's IF countries take social distancing seriously. I heard Trump wants to let everyone out because he thinks it will save the economy (it will in fact do the opposite). I hope he doesn't do that because I really want life to go back to mostly normal before summer. Oh my naïveté in thinking after defeating the virus the first time that there's no way they'll let it happen a second time. I miss that optimism.

Back in March I remember having a zoom chat with some friends and I mentioned how I hoped and thought it would be over within a few months. One of the guys basically said that our lives were over until late 2021 or early 2022 and we needed to accept that fact. I became so angry with him at the time but he is correct. I think best case scenario is that we start to return to some level or normalcy by summer 2021 but I think more likely it's going to be summer 2022.

He'll probably be right in the end. It's a shame. I think around June things were starting return to normal around here. Me being more cautious, I started going out more in July after my city declared it eradicated COVID-19 (we had zero active cases for about 2 weeks). I thought that would be the end of it, and things were returning to normal as normal can be. No pool parties but did vacation to lake towns and had picnics etc. But then the virus came back and the government did nothing to stop it. Now my city has had more deaths in the second wave than the first wave and we're just letting that happen. It's really depressing, I'm losing faith in society in general. I look onto places like China and Australia/NZ with envy. We're here talking about imaginary "freedoms" and they have the real version.
