I suddenly got hit with 2018 nostalgia. I think it might be my second favourite year of the 2010s (after 2014). I'm thinking of my mustard yellow sweater.

I'm thinking of my mustard yellow sweater. 2018 was a pretty good year for movies actually, a lot of my favourite films from the 2010s were released then. Too bad everything else from that year doesn't quite stack up.

I'm nostalgic for some parts of 2018, even though I had some rough spots during that time like June 2015-2017. Late 2018 was still kinda rough 4 me, but much better than early-mid 2018. I've been hit with 2019 nostalgia since March 2020 which was my favorite year of the 2010s with 2016 in 2nd place. I recently got a mustard yellow thermal in November 2020 lol.

Call me visionary with this thread when 2010s nostalgia will take over pop culture in the mid-2030s 🤙

I agree. 2019 kind of felt like a transitional year with a bunch of 2010s franchises going off air. I loved the vibe of 2019. It felt new, exciting & fresh. I’m pretty sure that would’ve been the vibe of the early 2020s of COVID wasn’t a thing.

My favourite films from 2018 would be "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Johnny English Strikes Again", "Deadpool 2" and "Ready Player One". I agree in regards to the music though. I would personally consider 2018 to be the second-worst year for music out of the decade. 2019 is actually my second favorite year in the 2010s for pop culture, behind 2013. I don't mind 2019 either actually. I'm not sure if I would consider it as being among my Top-3 favourite years for 2010s pop culture, but it was definitely better than 2016-2018.

I don't miss the 2010s. Its far too recent, we still, yes after 2020, aren't completely divorced from the decade yet, it's the start of 2021 and 2020 wasn't a real year that exhausted the last of 2010s culture as it was largely frozen. We still have a while until things actually change. The most noteworthy redeemable aspect of the earlier/middle part of the 2010s was just the slightly more liberal attitude, and the start of smart technology and nostalgia becoming more trendy and acceptable all of which are still mostly with us, they just aren't as intense or new as a year like 2013 or 2015.
I think both 2000s and 2010s are bit overrated tbh. I think its good to point out the positives in those respective decades, or whatever one enjoyed or remembered, but honestly looking back, regardless of nostalgia, they mostly felt like transitions and most of them didn't have the special and complete feeling like earlier periods, it always felt like something was better in a different era or that something was missing. It never seemed that way from the 80s to the early Y2K era.
