I was in 8th grade when 9/11 happened so I have some perspective

Not comparing the 2 incidents but.. yeah New York doctor says 9/11 was "nothing" compared to COVID-19 I was in 8th grade when 9/11 happened so I have some perspective Much bigger than 9/11. Life changed after 9/11 but it still went on and there was still a sense of normalcy. There was still optimism if you knew where to look. None of that's true today. This is also affecting the entire globe and isn't discriminating.

Nope, if anything it’s the H1N1 of the 2020s or something but this is its own thing, especially if more people are dying compared to 9/11 then some could say it’s worse (debatable
though)
Unless another terrorist attack happens like that, then theirs no comparison to the two events.

What a strange comparison...
9/11 only really affected some politics and safety measurements, and was mostly confined to the US.
The corona virus is impacting the entire world and affecting practically every aspect of life from eduction to businesses to pop culture to sports to the economies accros the world thrown into jeopardy, and even down to simplest concepts like human interaction.
Comparing 9/11 and Covid-19 is like comparing an unpleasantly brisk wind to a hurricane.

Well people are gonna be more sensitive and bitchy now with physical contact or getting roasted... Back then, people were thick-skinned, whenever they got roasted, they'll just laugh and roast them back, now, if someone calls another person stupid or give constructive criticism, they'll cry. This time, its gonna be further amplified with physical contact... Accidentally bump into someone they'll run and cry like babies.

This is far worse... 9/11 was devastating from what I've heard, but things picked back up after a few months. With Coronavirus, its effects are really exaggerated. People are forced to stay in their homes, meetings and hangouts are cancelled, major events and sports are cancelled, and people are more scared. This pandemic might last for at least 6 months, possibly even years, I dont know...

This pandemic might last for at least 6 months, possibly even years, I dont know... was in 8th grade for 9/11, things shut down for maybe 3 or 4 days and things went back to normal. Things that obv changed were security at airports, the looming paranoia of Anthrax and the troops deployed. launched in 2003. 9/11 was a terrible event that happened once and its after glow effect the entire year. By March 2002 we were already rebuilding fast.

In historical importance, it's up there with events like the 1918 flu, the Great Depression, WWII, the 2008 financial crisis and 9/11, no question.
But in a lot of aspects, this is worse than 9/11. Pretty much all of sports have been cancelled or postponed indefinitely, public places have been shut down besides essential buildings like pharmacies and grocery stores, everyone's essentially homebound, pop culture is at a standstill and human interactions could radically change after this pandemic.

9/11 was nothing compared to this. My memories of a world before 9/11 were not that vivid, but I can say 2002, things were fine. Yes, it did cause a recession as well as a war right after, but the 2008 recession was way worse, and schools resumed the next day, and airport reopened that same night. Also, it only killed people in the northern part of the East Coast in addition to anyone in the war. The coronavirus is however far worse as it killed way more people and also globally, and more than three million people were infected, now nearly two million people are still infected. Schools have been closed since mid March, and are still planning to be closed for the rest of the school year. Movie theaters and gyms are closed too. This recession is far worse than the 2008 one. Also, we have been in lockdown since March 16, and the law does not allow people to be outside unless it is essential.

It will take time before we can say. It's possible in 2-3 years people will forget this pandemic ever happened, while with 9/11 the effects are still felt today. But I think the coronavirus will change the world in other, more interesting ways and will accelerate changes that were already inevitabale (e.g. more work from home).
