2013 It was the best year for my personal life and I loved the culture of that year because of the fresh blend of early and mid 2010s trends. Honorable mentions are 2012, 2015, and 2016. 2013 was so much fun as well! Except August lol 2013 sucked completely for me, except for spring break, two weeks during July 2013, and the last ten days of 2013.

2012. My last elementary school field trip took place that year. ( It was my last year of being in elementary in general ) Out of every Early 2010’s year, there’s just something I’ve always favored about 2012. Some of my favorite movies were also made in 2012, which I consider my last childhood year. Grades 7-12 were all high school for me. It’s either 2010 or 2012.

I voted for 2010 for MANY reasons and here they are: -Skeuomorphic design was still popular, I remember EVERYBODY was using Windows 7, IMO still the last truly great Windows version -The peak of electropop, something I did not appreciate at the time, but I do miss the energetic and fun vibe of it, not to mention electronic music in general making a comeback since the 90s -Probably my favorite year for animated movies: Despicable Me, Tangled, Toy Story 3, Megamind, Shrek Forever After, How to Train Your Dragon. All great. -You still have that 2000s millennial vibe to it so things were not woke yet and you didn't have things like cancel culture. You could say whatever you wanted. -Just more experimentation in the media in general. Whenever I think about this year I think of things like Adventure Time and Inception and it really puts into perspective how much more innovative things were back then -Speaking of which, shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, MAD, Generator Rex, and Kick Buttowski all kicked ass. -A great and highly underrated year for video games. You had Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo Reach (the last Bungie-developed Halo game), Rock Band 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain, God of War III. -Generally quite a peaceful year. The only really bad thing that happened was the Haiti earthquake, but beyond that, there wasn't much going on, and I liked that.

2019 because it is the year I went out of my comfort zone. I took a film photography class and modeled that spring semester. I made a bunch of friends in that class and in my Calculus 3 class that semester who I still keep in touch with today.
One day in photo class, my photo professor said that I have the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. I went on a field trip with my photo class. Once I stayed out late with my photo group fooling around at night for a painting with light photography project at our school, the park and I walked up to a Del Taco drive thru doing dumb shit lol.
Once my Calc 3 study group was going to ditch class to go eat, but that never happened lmao. The pain of not feeling like a bad ass hurt. Hahahaha.
I worked at my community college math lab spring and fall semesters. I participated in my community college integration bee. I lost and my coworkers now friends tried cheering me up. As soon as I walked out to get food, so did they. Hoo hoo hoo hoo.
I spent the first and last day of being 20 getting a haircut and facial heh heh heh heh. I turned 21 that May on a rainy Saturday! That was the only time in my life that it rained on my birthday which made turning 21 extra special. I received awesome presents like a navy blue robe, LIFX color-changing light bulb, cool birthday cards (my sister’s card to me said that I am a bad ass), Affinity Graphic Design and photo software, Nintendo Switch with games like LA Noire, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Party, an Italy keyring and a photography book. I probably received other cool presents which I cannot think of. I hung out with friends on my birthday at Red Robbin and enjoyed my birthday gifts. I celebrated my 21st birthday that whole summer even though I was doing summer school hehehehe. I took Linear Algebra and a children’s literature class. I went out to see Lion King, the arcade, hang out in Downtown with friends. The day my friends and I went to see Lion King was the day we were supposed to head to the casino, but we missed the bus lol so we had to postpone to another day. We still had fun watching the movies and went for boba afterwards. I went to the casino for the first time in my life with friends. I did not gamble. I played on the slot machines. I tried alcohol for the first time and learned that drinking is not for me. I changed my look that summer to how I look today. I got new reading glasses.
That fall semester I tutored in a math class and quickly realized how much that sucked. I took my last math and general education courses, Differential Equations and Political Science.
My car got into an accident that September. That was a real headache because the 20 year old woman who hit my car did not want to take responsibility when it was her fault. She turned right into my car without checking herself. She had to ask her 10 year old brother if there was another car and he said no. Luckily the car got fixed. I no longer have that car.
I had fun at the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas potlucks and parties.
That December, I replaced old bedroom furniture I had since I was 9 to 10 years old with new furniture that I brought with my hard earned money. I downsized which was quite a relief as to how much space I saved in my room because my room was cramped with the old furniture.
Overall 2019 remains the best year of my life. It was truly a very memorable year indeed, the craziest wildest year of my life. I truly felt like I entered my early 20s at age 21. Honestly at age 23, I am desperately trying to hold onto that vibe. I still feel like I am 21, predominately in my early 20s although mid 20s technically begins 4 months after turning 23. I still feel like I am the same person as I was in 2019. I still look the same, dress the same, talk the same, have the same tastes in music, movies, games and TV, etc. I really loved the vibe of 2019. It felt fresh and energizing. I do not know what was in the air back then, but I really need that back. I was genuinely sad that December because 2019 was about to end. If I could go back to 2019, I would in a heartbeat. Little did I know what 2020 would bring lmao.

A combo of 2016 and 2017 for me, the pokemon go/clown hysteria/fidget mania days were something else.
2012 to 2015 was great for my personal life, but 2016-2017 were def the most iconic years from the 10s

2011, 2016 and 2019 are my top 3 summers. Summer 2012 was actually pretty dope. Minecraft, Gravity Falls, The Avengers, and the 2012 London Olympics. Gangnam Style was huge too. Summer 2011 - lots of Halo Reach and Black Ops. It was pretty dope too. Probably my second favorite 2010s summer behind 2012. All three early 2010s summers (2010, 2011, 2012) were great actually.
