2016 still sucks and is easily the worst year of the 2010s to have lived through. Even with how bad 2020 is currently turning out, I won't change my mind on how disheartening and hopeless that year felt. A crapshoot of weekly terrorist attacks, mediocre at best pop culture, constant celebrity deaths and an extremely unpleasant political climate. And yes, even a panic around a virus too. Ugh
Anyway, my favorites are probably a toss between 2012, 2013 and 2015. I can't choose between them, basically all equally fun years and on a personal level they were great for me. 2013 and 2015 were both jam packed with great hits too, and 2012 felt pretty unique since everyone was obsessed with the Mayan apocalypse and it was an exciting time as a result.

2012. My favorite year of the decade by far, and people thought the world was gonna end, lol.
So many great pop songs came out that year like "Diamonds", "Don't You Worry Child","Some Nights", and "Lights". Even if some hit 2012 songs weren't as great ("Payphone", for example), the music was just so memorable. I almost know all of the hit songs that year.
2012 was also a pretty great time for movies. Chronicle, The Dark Knight Rises, Django Unchained, The Avengers, Skyfall, Wreck-It Ralph, End of Watch, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower were all widely acclaimed.
For video games, I would have to go more towards with 2013 because of The Last Of Us and GTA V being GOAT games, but 2012 had the Walking Dead Telltale series, FarCry 3, and Mass Effect 3, so it wasn't all bad.
Both 2013 and 2015 come at a close second for my favorite years.

You know what, i'm actually going with 2019. Turning 20 felt like a fresh start for me in many ways and it was the first time where I had felt as though I had mostly overcome the difficulties that I had experienced when I was in my teens, such as feeling self-conscious about how I looked and sounded. Coming to the realisation that people don't spend their time focusing on your insecurities really helped to change my outlook on life as well. At the beginning of the year, I made the decision to go off youth allowance for good, which ended up being a huge weight off my shoulders. No longer did I have to make cold-calls and apply for 20 jobs which I had no hope of ever getting (e.g working at fast-food outlets). Since then, I have been applying for my jobs at my accord and even though I still haven't had any luck in getting a job which offers more hours, it's still a hell of a lot better than being on youth allowance.
I also loved being able to go away on my first solo holiday trips last year. Lithgow, Albury and Orange may only be several hours away from where I live, but the level of freedom and independence that I had during those trips was something that I treasured. For the first time ever, I was responsible for every single decision I made over the course of those few days, from deciding what to eat, where to go, how much money to spend etc. It was great! Really, the only negative from last year was my Dad serving time in jail and the challenges that came with it. I've had days where I've felt very down, it's a hard thing to accept that one of your parents has been to a jail. He has been out since September and although things aren't the same as what they were before, the wounds are slowly healing as time goes on.

2013 for me.
It was the final year I spent at my first school, and I certainly enjoyed that final year thoroughly. I felt as though it was the year when I was most happy (perhaps a little bit too happy). I had such an interest in chart music then, and I regularly discussed it with my friend. At one stage, I was checking iTunes Charts daily to see whether there was any change in the order. I loved almost all songs that were hits, I loved them then and I still do now (possibly due to nostalgia more than anything else). It was sort of ruined when I left that school, but looking back, it was a good decision as it wasn’t the best school for opportunities. That friend now goes to my current school, I speak occasionally to him but not as regularly. We don’t hate each other!
I remember loving Pompeii by Bastille in 2013, and wanted it to get to #1 on the charts. I think it peaked at #4 in the end. Looking back at music compilations really brings about this nostalgia. It astounds me that it is now 7 years ago.
I would say either 2012 or 2018 for second place.

2012 definitely. If 2020 was like 2012, the world would be a better place.

I would have to go with 2018, since a lot of great things happened to me that year. I hung out a lot with friends that year along with family, and Spring Break, we had a nice Boston trip, I was able to work two coding instructor jobs over the summer, and I scored an internship and another coding instructor job in November. September and October only sucked since I was jobless, though we still had fun at the time. We did early bookings for Boston and my Asia trip. The end of 2018 marked my final year in college. I toured Singapore and Bangkok over the summer after my coding instructor jobs ended. During 2018, I did plenty of flight simulation, and I got introduced to Fresh off the Boat, one of the sexiest TV shows I have watched, and around December, we booked for our Miami trip in January 2019. I also had movie pass throughout 2018, so we also watched a movie every Friday. However, movie pass began to suck after I returned from Thailand, and then the next month, we got AMC Stubs, and we were using that frequently to watch new movies. It was great. I think 2018 might have been the best year of my life.

2013
It was the best year for my personal life and I loved the culture of that year because of the fresh blend of early and mid 2010s trends. Honorable mentions are 2012, 2015, and 2016.

2012 and 2016 were my personal favorites, 2017 was my second favourite. 2017 was my second favorite. I would have to say 2016 was my third favorite, though August-October 2016 sucked. 2014 was my fourth favorite, though March, November, and December 2014 sucked. 2012 sucked completely for me, except for like a certain four weeks during summer 2012.
