Do you like the pop culture of the mid-2000's better or the early 2010's?
I'm probably biased, but I honestly like the early 2010's more, at least when it comes to pop culture and trends. I just feel like the early 2010's were more optimistic and upbeat.

This poll should have been
Early 2000s vs Early 2010s and I bet you early 2000s would win, a mid of a decade is always going to be more muted and darker
The mid 2000s really were not that dark tbh, 80s nostalgia kind of amplified it

Early 2010s & it's not even close! The early 2010s brought us so many jams & were a revolutionary time in history. You're so right that the early 2010s were optimistic & upbeat. Lady Gaga truly changed music & even social norms with her famous hit "Born This Way," which is timeless & promoted tolerance & acceptance in society. The early 2010s were pure amazing in so many ways that the mid 2000s lacked.

Feel like this thread was made to shit on the mid 2000s. Haha
I honestly can't pick since I personally enjoyed both.

I picked the Mid 2000s, but if i'm being honest, there are aspects of the Early 2010s which I like more. The indie-pop scene and the Marvel Cinematic Universe were genuinely great. Kids who grew up during the 2010s should feel very lucky to have grown up in a time where superhero films, such as The Avengers and Thor, were made to such a high standard and released to cinemas at a regular basis. They're sure better than most of the superhero films that were released when I was a kid.
However, the Mid 2000s have the slight edge for me as they were generally a more diverse time for pop culture across the board and on an overall level, I prefer the music from that time as well. I'm also more bias towards them seeing as how they were the era of my childhood (along with the Late 2000s) and the Early 2010s were my awkward, early teen years.

Gotta go with the mid-00s. The early 10s had a nice pop culture and all but were otherwise challenging times to live through because of the ongoing recession. At least in comparison to how more carefree and peaceful the mid-00s felt.
The mid-00s were also a truly unique era in which older analogous formats seemed to perfectly coexist in harmony with newer technology, unlike the early 10s where everything had to be quickly replaced to fit in the digital era.
