Many people have pinpointed that this song ushered music in the early 2010s era but does this song really sound early 2010s or late 00s to you?

Idk I feel like it’s kinda both? It doesn’t really sound neither late 2000’s or early 2010’s to me.

Many people have pinpointed that this song ushered us in the early 2010s era but does this song really sound early 2010s to you? Yes, as that was the sound that was going to dominate the next few years, Red One's sound dominated the early 2010s there are tons of songs that came out in 2010 and 2011 that sound just like Just Dance and use all of the same sounds. The sound was expanded upon by Red One for people like Niki Minaj and Enrique

I like Rainbow's view on the song, it's a transitional/in-between song.

"Just Dance" was pivotal in popularising the electropop sound of the early 2010s, but I think the song itself sounds of its time. It's a dance-pop song rooted in '00s-style r&b. Many of the pop songs that were released during the late 2000s incorporated elements of dance-pop and electronica into their sound. Listen to other '08 songs such as "Shake It" by Metro Station or "Don't Stop The Music" by Rihanna; both songs are built around their synth-based hooks. "Just Dance" is quintessentially late 2000s.

I didn't really hear about Lady Gaga until 2009 though, that's the stuff that sounds early 2010s to me, 100bpm+ fast-paced stuff. Just Dance is less overproduced, it sounds too quiet/minimal to be early 2010s. That's my opinion though, I'm not a musicanista.

I'd say it is probably the most important song when discussing the shift in music from '00s to '10s. That's not to say everything else on the radio in late 2008 alongside Just Dance sounded early '10s, but this particular song really kickstarted it.

Literally both. The late 2000s and early 2010s both share that last slice of pizza.
