July 2006 is around the time Youtube blew up, OK GO had a video that shortly went viral off of this.

Culture was transitioning to the late 2000s by late 2006/early 2007 but there was still a mid/core 2000s vibe in that era, especially with flip phones, pop punk, crunk, and Fergie. It was also a pre-recession time.

It was also a pre-recession time. I am going to be honest with you and I know this may piss tons of people off, Summer 2007 was operating at 69 to 75 % 2000s feeling. There was noticeable difference that culture was getting a little bit more digital in the 2006-2007 school year, the Iphone releasing changed the vibe for sure. I remember watching the news in Early 2007 and TRL was suppose to be canceled but they postponed it until 2008, Youtube was ruining all of the countdown shows on tv at the time. Britney shaving her head put an end to the era of Britney we knew. TMZ had launched on tv. However................. there was a heavy 2000s vibe in 2007 still lingering it wasn't completely gone so I would say it was in the 70 percent range of feeling 2000s. Facebook in New Jersey got VERY HOT in Spring 2007, Myspace was till more popular but you could see more commercials have add us on Facebook in the ads. 2007 was pretty much a more digital and more shitty 2006, very watered down. The Recession actually has its roots in 2007 even tho it would not POP until 2008. 2007 was pretty much the 2000s on the edge of a cliff or tightrope and about to fall any second. BTW Hipster was becoming a new sub culture in Jersey in 2007 very low key very very low key, American Apparel started heavily promoting hipster looking advertisements on billboards then.

Summer 2006 was awesome. We went to Elephant Bar as a family, and that was the first time I actually paid attention to the speed of how fast we eat. My dad finished first, then me. After that, my mom had a few leftovers while my brother had a bunch of leftovers. They both ran out of space.
