I'm sorry, but lifting the lockdowns already is a stupid and premature mistake. The number of current cases is still too high. L.A. County is wise to extend its shutdown considering the circumstances. With the proper precautions, I can understand reopening some businesses, but far too many Americans are just not patient enough, and those states that have already been lifting their restrictions are already paying the price. If we want this crap to go away, we need to actually adapt, not just continue to spread it and allow even more people to die needlessly.

Protects you and protects others. A little sacrifice by everyone can bring the current situation to an end much quicker with many fewer casualties.

I'm worried about my toddler not getting to interact with another person here age for a year or more and what that might do for her social development. But I still have enough brain cells to rub together to understand that overall it is better for her safety and ours that we remain isolated and stuck at home. It just isn't worth the risk.

The whole point is that lifting the restrictions sooner isn't going to cause the pandemic itself to disappear any sooner, it's just going to result in more people contracting and subsequently dying from the disease. I am absolutely all for keeping the restrictions high until we at least have a reliably safe treatment that will prevent it from killing anybody.

A vaccine is probably going to take at least 12-18 months to come out. There is absolutely no way restrictions will last for that long. It’s not healthy to be in isolation like that. Even if there was still a stay-at-home order, eventually people will get tired and break social distancing guidelines anyway.

I didn't say that part sucks ( I lost my grandmother due to Covid btw) The part that sucks is being stuck in the house, there is nothing I can do about it tho staying safe > wanting to go outside
