The Netflix mailer with the Suicide girls stickers on the mailbox. Yeah, we used mail-in Netflix DVD service quite often back then. I think their streaming service started in July of that year? I turned 17 in this month.

"DIE HIPSTER SCUM" seems rather early. Urban Outfitters were selling it in 2007

I think streaming started getting big in mid 2013 to early 14. Core DVD era seems be 02-2003 to 12/2013. Btw didn’t Facebook get going and popular in mid or late 2006? I can’t remember?

If we look at sales numbers, DVD sales were immense in the mid-to-late 2000s and dropped significantly through the early 2010s: Blue-rays were not a bad idea, but a huge bummer that they were launched a little before DVD's huge decline.

Before streaming there was piracy. Megavideo was a lot of fun while it lasted lol.

Yeah it was declining since 2009 but still somewhat standard, dvd renting (blockbuster or not) and purchasing was still pretty common back then, 2011-2013 was probably the last significant phase, I remember streaming didn't have most of what you needed and didn't completly take over from I remember, blu ray was pretty popular but didn't completely overtake dvds. I would say streaming took over by 2014/2015 just based on what it seemed like.

I remember early hipsters and metrosexual hipsters from 2004 and 2005 being a bit of a mainstream thing, but it wasn't until 2006 that the many variations of it became a bit more common and even hipster beards and lumberjack hipster looks were already set through 2005-2006, and even more so, around late 2006. In the late 2000s to mid 2010s it just become more refined, modified and ultra mainstream.

Facebook came out in late summer 2006 but did not get a buzz until March 2007 (atleast in NJ/My)

Depends on where you were living, I saw them in summer 2007 in New Jersey. It didn't really smack you in the face until Late 2008, atleast here. It was super Niche at the time Early early early Hipster (the one we think of) kind of fused with Scene culture when it first started. (think early American Apparel ) late 2009 you started seeing the scene aspects remove itself from it.
