Were the 1960s the building block for modern fashion?

Yes I view the 1960's as the beginning of a mass fashion era we have yet to exit. And really can't foresee leaving anytime soon. Otherwise I would say the advent of stretch clothing has been perhaps the biggest change since, though it was more incorporated into existing styles than a visual shift.
