This is the thread only if you hated them. I personally HATED the mid 2010s, and as much as piece of Sh&*t the late 2010s were they were MILES better then the mid 2010s.

I liked a few aspects such as the promotion of woman's rights and LBGT rights, hipster influenced food, and the way a lot of 80's/90s nostalgia became much easier to enjoy. But as mentioned earlier it felt super artificial, especially the way people fetishized social media, beards and technology and the culture felt like manufactured individualism. We still haven't completely exited that culture but some of it does feel dated.

I personally didn't like them as they were ongoing (due to the music, lone-wolf terrorist attacks, and mass smartphone adoption rates), but I do look back on the Mid 2010s much more favourably than the other two eras of the decade. That's not saying much though. It wasn't a great era; there was genuine fear in the rise of ISIS and many terrorist attacks occurred worldwide, especially throughout Europe. It can be easy to forget that given what we're going through now with COVID-19 and the George Floyd protests.

I got scary flashbacks in the mid 2010s of Grunge in its dying days and seeing catalogs with Grunge in big font GET THE GRUNGE LOOK, turn on tv heavy guitar riff with someone in plaid advertising Super Nintendo lol I kind of got that with Hipster the fonts in commercials and what not. It was makes me want to throw up. Like I feel like I need to take a shower just thinking about it. I remember going into a coffee shop around late 2014 and just seeing dudes with suspenders and talking with a high pitched voice with a feather in their cap. Then I look to my left there is a girl with black fake glasses big ones and a brim black hat talking about vegan free this vegan free that. This dude was like "awww man I love Imagine Dragons & Mumford and Sons they are the best" " Oh have you seen the coffee shops in Portland its so cool u should move to portland" GTFO Burn it just burn all the memories please...

I hated them as they were ongoing and probably still would if not for 2020. Compared to 2020, I'd take them back in a heartbeat. I'd do a few things differently though.

While I don’t hate the era, I did have manyyy encounters with hipsterdom and did not care for that particular aspect. What remains beyond hilarious is how they are all exactly the same. At the time, it made me a little bit insecure, as several of my school friends had gotten deep into the culture, and I felt like I didn’t fit in. It had that “I missed a day in class” sensation. Once I began uncovering that they were all just copying each other though I stopped caring. To this day I continue to find things, a la the above illustrations, that are dead on for people I knew.

If you're talking about the stretch from 2013 to 2016, there are things I enjoy about it. I must admit that the 2010s have been massively rehabilitated for me in recent months: we had Adventure Time still on the air, no alt-right, vaporwave was at its peak, and video games throughout the decade were f'ing amazing.
Also my wife and I officially became a couple in January 2010 and by December 2019 we had a nine-month-old daughter, so the decade has been kind of the story of our relationship.

Personally it was fucking garbage besides the 2013-2014 school year which was the best time of my life.
Objectively it was kinda bland and cheesy but looks utopian compared to the dreaded late 10s.
