What are common instruments that are used heavily in music in each decade?
1960s: Reverb vocals, guitar reverb, tambourines, horns, orchestral strings, jingly melodies.
1970s: Guitar licks, wah-wah guitars, quiet vocals, electric piano, orchestral strings, basslines, horns, electric guitars.
1980s: Synthesizers, reverb vocals, gated drums, metal riffs, horns.
1990s: Distorted guitars, boom bap drums, g-funk synths, house synths, record scratches, melismic vocals, swing beats.
2000s: Punk riffs, crunk synths/claps, acoustic guitars, autotune, shuffle drums.
2010s: Trap 808s, "indie girl" voice, pianos, synth stabs, the drop.

Autotune was far more commonly used in the 2010s than in the 2000s tho
For the 1960s there was this "wall-of-sound" trend popularized by the producer Phil Spector.
