My 15th birthday! It feels a bit too soon but 2007-08 school year definitely has a nostalgic quality. I was starting to feel comfortable in high school and people started to a be a liiiitle bit nicer to me. And I got an Xbox 360 this month with Halo 3 and Lost Odyssey!

February 2008 was a month before my 9th birthday, so this is naturally the era in which I have the greatest amount of nostalgia for. I can remember secretly being pleased over hearing the news that the girl who I had a crush on had moved from Mr Thompson's Year 3 class to the one that I was in. I used to get embarrassed whenever my Mum or anyone would say that I was in love with her, but we both had feelings for each other and it was kind of like an open secret among everyone anyway. This was also the month that I took my first ever photos with a proper camera. I received my Kodak digital camera for my birthday, but my Mum let me use it once a few weeks beforehand. I just took photos of my backyard and our street.

I feel like 2007-2008 felt like much more positive and uplifting year compared to 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. There was this positive energy in the air for bit, compared to the almost empty pop culture vibe, negativity from the bush era/politics and materialist and cliquish culture that sort of peaked during 2006 or just associated with that year, and it felt like things were finally starting to get better and change at least a bit in certain ways. There was a fresh feeling in late 2007-mid 2008, like new page almost.

Didn't last long as we know LOL Economy crash

The aesthetic is so removed from what's recent. Haha Transitions can be amazing.

Still I think that optimism was a healthy short break between the economy crashing and the dark part of the core bush era and all that stuff.I actually think 2007-2008 was a pretty solid year, I think of it like an improved version of the 2006-2007 and without more transitional culture of the 2008-2009. I think it was one of best 2000s years with 99/00,02/03,03/04 08/09 imo.

It was if 2008 was like slim line revised version of a video game system, cutting the fat and trimming the DARK Digital aspects. 2008 is a DIRECT realative of 2006 if the dark & Digital part did not seep later in the year. It was this small relaxed mini era that was just biding time until the economy crashed.

I remember I went to Boston with my family this month.
The first half of 2008 was definitely the last time we were in a genuine 2000s atmosphere.

I would say by May 2008, we were out of the core '00s. Just as I peg American Idiot as the beginning of that period, I think the releases of Speed Racer, Wall-E, The Dark Knight, and Harold & Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay mark its end.

I flipped back for fourth for the last 2 months on if 2009 is the epilogue or not. But fk it 2008 is the end.
