The first half of the 2000s or so was the last period when magazines had much greater demand and relevance as an exclusive source for information, pictures etc
While magazines are still popular the demand has declined.
A lot of magazines in the late 2000s and 2010s stopped printing as it went digital as well or just shut down as companies.
What were your favorite magazines from back then? Do you know any that stopped or that were better In the 2000s ?
In the early 2000s it would have been mad magazine and any gaming or rock music magazine. The internet just wasn’t enough and mags still had a lot of info you couldn’t find elsewhere.
In the late 00s/early 2010s it seemed a lot of magazines felt slimmed down and the excitement of waiting for a new ones was not as much due to the internet having more content, being faster and easier to access and kind taking away from some of that process.
I know Nintendo power and circus ( rock magazine) stopped around that time. Mad seemed to be better back then as well.

NatGeo Kids was bangin. American Girl was okay. I was more of a catalog kid though because apparently I'm that capitalist.

I think mail order catalog was still a thing back then ? It was in the 90s, I can’t remember. Online shopping probably didn't start making a serious dent in catalog circulation until the late 00's. I still have a pretty big collection. There was a while where they'd encourage you to purchase online rather than use the mail away slip before they stopped including it altogether. I used to actually go online and request a whole bunch of them sent to me.
