So yes, clearly we are solidly in the 2010s by now...but those first three photos could just as easily have been taken in 2009/early 2010.

Wow do I feel nostalgic, I was 8 years old during this time, we hit our 6th month of living in Canada, in a nice small apartment. I remember watching Disney XD and seeing those Cinnamon toast crunch ads, along with the hype for the Summer 2012 Olympics with P&G commercials. I used to act swaggy by wearing those neon striped glasses and shirts that said YOLO 😂 Bangs were definitely all the rage back then with girls too, and of course, Call me maybe, who can forget?

Final phase of "the 2000s morphing into the 2010s" and you can clearly tell. What an unique year. depending on where you are yeah in New york that shipped sailed from 2009 -2011 By 2010 here everything already was 89% removed from 2000s, nothing about 2012 really felt 2000s in my view.

You are right about locations. New York and Los Angeles are major fashion hubs in the US. The other ones are Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Portland, and maybe Chicago. Usually Midwest cities are behind in fashion, it wouldn't be too hard to find someone who still dresses 2000s-ish in 2012 unless you live in upper-class neighborhoods. Here is an image I found from a NYC high school in 2010 and it screams 2010s.
