That's interesting, I haven't actually looked through the Hottest 100 charts from the '90s in much detail before, so it's interesting to see that many of the songs I like from 1999 made it onto the chart that year. I agree that Triple J would have been much more listenable back then compared to now, the '90s in general were a great time for music.

Just sticking with this topic, do you like any songs from 1999?

Another song that made the Hottest 100 in 1999 was "Never Had So Much Fun" by Frenzal Rhomb, which reached #26. The band's lead guitarist, Lindsay "The Doctor" McDougall, now does the local Drive program on ABC Illawarra at 3-6pm weekdays.

I forgot about "Scar Tissue" actually, that's another song from 1999 which I enjoy listening to.

I didn't actually know that! Did the members of Frenzal Rhomb come from the Illawarra or did Lindsay McDougall just happen to take up a role in the media down here?

According to Wikipedia, Frenzal Rhomb was formed at Newtown in Sydney, and Lindsay McDougall grew up in Sydney. He moved down (in other words, made a "sea change") to the Illawarra region when he became ABC Illawarra's drive presenter in January 2018.

Well, 2 months after the promise, I've finally completed covering a few years! (still many to go...)

Anyway, I like 1999. Although I don't have strong feelings towards it, I still geniunely adore many releases from this year. Pretty cool and creative year for pop and electronic, even if not quite as good as 1998.
