Even though it's only 2020, I think this year has been a huge improvement for music over 2019. I'm starting to notice a slight shift in music, especially in regards to throwbacks. These would be the best songs of 2020 so far.

I prefer the music of 2019 by far, this year has been one huge disappointment. There are a few songs released this year that I like though: {Spoiler}

Alright, let's stop pooping on the current year for a sec and try to find what is making us tick in these last few months. List all the diamonds in the rough in your opinion, and you can even choose how many you wanna showcase. I'm gonna list 5 for now because otherwise 1. Twenty One Pilots - Level of Concern 2. Doja Cat - Boss Bitch 3. Benee ft. Gus Dapperton - Supalonely 4. Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar 5. Billie Eilish - No Time to Die (This title did not aged well in the few months it came out) Hasn't changed since the last two months were so devoid of anything worthwhile. Would probably add "Know Your Worth" by Khalid and Disclosure at #6 tho.

6. Khalid & Disclosure - Know Your Worth
7. 24kGoldn ft. Iann Dior - Mood
8. Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky
There's been several other decent songs like "death bed", "WAP", "cardigan" and "my future", but I don't feel particularly strong about them to include on my list. The top 8 is already a bit of a stretch as is with only the first three being truly great songs in my opinion.
I guess that there's still the fall season of releases to finally complete my top 10, but 2020 still is a terrible year for music in general and will probably be forgotten culturally in the future minus the pandemic. I just hope that this decade pulls the 60s/80s card and comes together in its mid-part after a very poor start.

I know we are talking about individual songs in this thread but Nas just released an album today and upon listening front to back for the first time it’s probably my favourite album of 2020 so far.
