Despite this song releasing in 1999, does this debut song from J.Lo sound more 90s or 00s?

Despite this song releasing in 1999, does this debut song from J.Lo sound more 90s or 00s? Sounds like it’s leaning towards 2000/2001ish 2000s, but like most of the singles has a lot of 99-00 vibes so I think it’s mixed.

Its on the cusp but I'd say 2000s because it doesn't sound like anything that would be released in the Core 90s, feels wayy ahead of the Classic 90s R&B sound and Ballads of 1993-98, especially with the Spanish guitars and Sci-fi synths.

Very 1999, neither really 90s or 2000s. It sounds very different to other J-Lo songs from the early 2000s and it would be very odd if it came out earlier in the 90s. It has that latin flavor that was very en vogue in '99 like "Bailando" and "Livin' la vida loca".

It has that late 99 very early 2000 pop vibe, obviously it’s from that period but also is a good example of the pop sound from then, at the same time something about the song and her singles from era that strike me a sort of leaning towards the 2000/2001 period.

It sounds very Y2K, so it leans neither towards the '90s, nor the 2000s. Her next single, "Waiting for Tonight", however, sounds much more '90s.

What I meant the song has a bit of vibe leaning to late 2000-2001 in a way. But that other song does sound 90sish. Personally I think Y2K has different sub eras, with slightly different sounds in relation to music as well. Y2k era: Proto Y2K (the mid to late 90s). That could anytime from 94/1995 to early 1998. Overall Y2k or just things that resemble the style are here and there, the least being mid to late 1994 and the most being early 1998. Subdivisions like late 96, mid to late 97 notably increase Y2k or similar elements. Transition: Mid 1998. Tons of elements of the era are solidified, noticeable and identifiable before it was the era. 1st phase: August/September 1998 to April 1999. Most Late 90s leftovers, new era starts. Spring/Summer 1999: Vibe of its own where Y2K trends are at their peak and feels very solid as an era. Mix of both 1 and 2 Y2K phases. 2nd phase: August 1999 to April 2000: Core and mostly pure Y2K Transition out: May 2000 to March 2001: Y2K vibes are still there to some extent but slowly diminishing and transitioning to the early 2000s. So sometimes music fits into a particular sub era, imo. Ex. Backstreet boys- I want it my way seems reflective of a certain division of the Y2K era, spring to autumn 1999, musically and vibe wise, not just strictly because it mostly played then. So its not just any time within the Y2K period. Limp Bizkit's Rollin and Eminem's the Way I am feels very representative of the 2000-2001 period.

Yeah, this sounds like it landed in exactly 1999. It's a little of what came before it, a little of what was to come.
