This thread was semi-inspired by best year of the 21st century for the US  What do you think was the best year for music since the start of the 21st century? This is honestly a very hard question for me because I tend to flip flop on opinions with years and music, but I'd probably say 2007. It was a diverse yet amazing year for music. Ironically, the absolute worst song of the 2000's came out that year (Crank That  ) but that was in late 2007 and it quickly flopped (Thankfully  ) These are the songs that make 2007 an amazing year IMO.

It's a toss-up between 2001, 2004 and 2007 for me, my opinion on which is the best out of them will likely be different tomorrow. However, I can't go past 2004. Even though it had some of the lowest of lows when it comes to music, it was also a great year for new releases: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

Voted for 2001, because it's a truly outstanding year for music which made the 21st century start with a bang. Though 2004, 2013 and 2015 are all close followers. Honorable mentions go to 2002, 2006 (I will fight 'till death to defend this baby), 2011 and 2018. Edit: Oh, screw it, since everyone is making these compilations, here's the Invincible 4 of the 21st century 2001:
^I hate everything about how this song was made, but this tune is so undeniable
^Now THIS is how funky pop should be done. 2020 music better take note.

^Oh my goodness I just couldn't stop  2001 was probably the most diverse time for mainstream music due to its transitional nature and I absolutely love that.
