Without getting too crazy into the topic what are some times you felt culture did a reboot ?
For me:
Late 1997 Late 2001 Late 2004 Late 2008 Late 2013 Late 2016

Myspace, the influx of DSL and Wifi, the way Emo took over. The new Cartoon Network logo. Nintendo DS, Mean Girls. Surfer style took over and everyone dressing like Laguna Beach. Toonami moving to Saturdays. The rise and fall of Ashlee Simpson. The end of Snick on Nick in Late Summer 2004. Kanye West. In hindsight it was more of a soft reboot.

Years with major cultural shifts in my opinion 1964 (British Invasion, start of the album era, color TV becomes mainstream) 1967 (Rise of psychedelia, counter-culture becomes mainstream, New Hollywood era begins, 8-track becomes popular) 1977 (VHS tapes, home computers, rise of punk, start of Blockbuster era Hollywood with Star Wars, Atari 2600, cassettes become popular) 1986 (NES launches, synthpop dies off in favor in hair metal, GUI-based computers become more popular (Amiga, Windows, Mac), CDs become popular) 1991 (End of Cold War, hair metal dies, grunge takes over, full start of 4th gen gaming, first three Nicktoons launch, end of cheesy Saturday morning cartoon era) 1996 (Internet goes mainstream, Windows 95 becomes popular, 3D video games take over/5th gen gaming fully starts, end of grunge and start of teen pop, start of Cartoon Network's goldena ge with Dexter's Laboratory, and the start of angular animation design, rise of the disaster movie trend, CGI in movies becomes common/expected rather than fancy) 2001 (9/11, rise of indie rock and emo, teen pop dies off, 6th gen consoles becoming popular, Windows XP, Mac OS X, end of traditional hand-drawn films in the mainstream, Shrek comes out, VHSes die off and are replaced with DVDs, iPod launches, rise of fantasy film franchises like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter) 2007 (iPhone, Tumblr launches, Web 2.0 fully formed, start of scene subculture, Netflix streaming launches, 7th gen gaming takes off) 2013 (beginning of trap being popular, Netflix launches original shows, end of classic YouTube/start of modern YouTube, flat design fully taking over, 8th gen gaming takes off, "CalArts" design becomes popular, Illumination becomes a big animation studio, start of modern memes/"post-ironic era", superhero movies are now inescapable) 2020 (Trump leaves office, COVID-19 pandemic, start of 9th gen gaming)
