1997 I still stand by what I said, and not just because my teachers that year were an upgrade or the teen pop or y2k incoming aesthetics, but the vibe just felt AMAZING ! 1999 I think is super underrated, it was a good 90s year, Star Wars had a TON of hype when it dropped. Great choice. What I loved about the Star Wars Episode 1 was all the hype 5 months prior to the movie. The excitement, the ads, previews in magazines, and on the internet, nothing can ever match the excitement leading up to movie. After the special editions, the concept of a new star wars movie was the most exciting thing ever. I remember my friends discussing how awesome it would be if they made a movie out of shadows of the empire back in 96-97ish, I remember they released some comics then, I still kinda wish they would make the movie some day. Remember these you would get at KFC when the movie was out? I think other places promoted them as well. They were pretty well designed and collectable. Did you get any I still have this one with my star wars stuff from the 90s lol: We could even take that back to like 97 when Star Wars was airing ads again and it was for PEPSI, hype for EP 1 was building fast.

Yes for sure. I mentioned earlier around when the special editions were out, would have been early 97, and right after during the same year when they left the theaters people were hooked and there was the longing for more, I remember Pepsi Star Wars packaging and ads were everywhere snd massive throughout the time of the specials, definitely part a that. They even released the similar cups in KFC, I used to have the stormtrooper. 1997 definitely solidified the renewed interest in the star wars franchise. I remember in early 97 when they were in the cinema the movies were sold out non stop for weeks, everywhere all the the time, you had to be really lucky. It was almost impossible to watch the movies when they were out . Star Wars got massive this year. Outside of the shadows I remember the interest in Star Wars, not so much the episode, building up in 95 and 96 with the toys, they had all these figures that were pretty neat and pretty affordable to collect , especially the micro machines sets were pretty popular.
