2020 is all bad news because of these annoying ass pessimists. There are some good news that aren't even shared, and what do they do? They highlight the worst things possible, and then publish it. That's all the news is nowadays, it's so annoying considering how it used to be mostly good news being shared in 2015, what fucking happened? Like holy fucking shit, I could literally destroy my door because of this.
For example, there's now cure for Ebola, no recognition. We have the 2020 SpaceX launch, no recognition. There was a 101 year old man who survived the Spanish Flu, WW2, and Coronavirus, no recognition. As much as Coronavirus needs to be strictly handled, Cancel culture really pisses me off and overexaggerates EVERYTHING, Coachella was cancelled, school was cancelled and instead lazilly converted to bullshit online schooling, PS5 and Cyberpunk 2077 have been pushed back, like holy fucking shit dude, I hate these asshats.

There is a lot going on in your post. Firstly, the media loves to stoke the flames by creating sensationalist headlines and telling stories that will stay in your head for days to come. Its always been like that and it always will be. If the news is pissing you off, just don't pay attention to it. Nothing monumental has happened this year and while the good things from this year that you mentioned are indeed good, they don't impact anyone's daily life and thus aren't probably aren't very meaningful to most people. Also, the news was mostly good in 2015? 2014-2017 had the Syrian refugee crisis, the rise of ISIS, beginning of the current political polarization, and TONS of lonewolf mass shootings/terrorist attacks in America and Europe. That period was arguably the darkest part of the 2010's. Lastly, how can you be so angry with cancel culture, yet not know what it is? Events delays/canceled from Corona are not at all what people mean when they discuss cancel culture. Also don't waste your energy being angry over video game delays because that's incredibly petty. If you really are feeling upset, then just take a break from the internet and enjoy your hobbies or whatever.

I only read the news when I need to be informed on what’s going on. If I see a negative headline, I just read the headline and skip it, that’s all I need to know what happened. The mid 2010s wasn’t a time of good news either. I’ve seen plenty of bad news in that time and it made me feel just as uncomfortable as it is today. Just don’t read it, your life won’t be affected if you don’t read the news, Plus, I don’t think you know the definition of cancel culture. Delays of video games have been happening for a long time. Cancel culture is when a particular public figure says or does something controversial, they get boycotted by the Twitter mobs. In some cases it can be good like Kevin Spacey but if someone gets “cancelled” for saying some racist joke from 10 years ago, then I don’t agree with that since the person has changed so much in the course of time.

Well thanks for explaining cancel culture, you were right, I didnt know what it meant. Its just that I'm trying to have a good time scrolling through my feed to see some funny posts or something good like SpaceX, funny memes, etc. But when I see posts about bad news always popping up in my feed, it gets really annoying, to the point where I'd get super pissed off hearing about it everyday. Yes bad news happened before, but not as much as nowadays, I don't recall seeing like 10 posts of negativity in my feed last year...

And whilst I live in Canada, I would like for Biden to be president in America since I feel bad for you guys for having a dumb president. Yet, they don't share too many good news of him being ahead of Trump in the polls, soo yeah. In Canada, we now have to deal with another dumb Prime Minister, Im hoping it doesn't happen for you guys

I get you OP. Sometimes, when I watch the news, I feel a little overwhelmed about what's going on. The best solution I've found is to keep a healthy limit on the amount of news I consume. If you have a Twitter, you can customize how you see your newsfeed. It makes for a good balance between keeping up with events and other topics

Bad news was still mostly being shared in 2015. You probably wouldn't remember or care since you were still in your childhood, but just about everything we're experiencing right now actually started at some point in the mid-2010's. You have Trump (who announced his presidency in 2015), and also the Black Lives Matter movement, (which came out in July 2013 and got big in 2014). And like others said, you should probably limit the amount of news you consume. I actually took a break from Twitter because all the posts were making me stressed. It's definitely improved my mental health a bit. I've also kinda stopped watching people's IG stories since it's literally all just politics now. Like if I wanted to see some political stuff I'd go on Twitter.

News channels usually feed off sensationalism and people's anxiety m, regardless of the era. It's obviously even more true so in this absolute shitstorm of a year. So unless you want to know that there's evil lurking in every corner of the world, I recommend to be more selective of when and where to be informed and to shun down the especially scare/attention-mongering channels.

Agreed 100%. The media is guilty of implementing fear into people's minds. It's important to be selective of the information you consume.

You think you've got it bad? My entire life is bad news. Could you please stop derailing threads and making them about your life? I'm not trying to be mean to you, but your constant self-hating comments are starting to get old. Why don't you go do something that makes you happy?

Why don't you go do something that makes you happy? You mean like, killing myself? Please don't do this. If you're having suicidal thoughts, you need to call a suicide hotline as soon as possible. We're here for you, but please remember that you're absolutely worth it & it will get better sooner or later. I understand in times like these, it's difficult to stay positive, but you will get through this & you'll come out stronger than ever before. Keep holding on!
